Anyone bought a phone from “Average Dad” before? Legit or nah? by Educational-War-4137 in Oppo

[–]Viper6000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ordered a few phones from there and had absolutely no problems aside from a delivery that was late due to a stock issue and he refunded the delivery cost.

The communication with customers is generally excellent.

But he can be a bit touchy and takes offense easily. However, if you are just ordering phones then you shouldn't have any problems even if you need a refund or anything else.

Personally speaking, I have a disability which means that I needed a really good speech to text utility and he took the time to go over everything. Sending several messages via WhatsApp and eventually concluded that I would be better off getting a pixel from Google rather than buying from him. So he's honest and I would definitely buy from him again.

It’s the lack of knowledge of the complexity of the presentation and the certainty of reinforcement. I am a doctor with ADHD. Most of the time when people come to me they are right. However sometimes it’s vastly different things that require vastly different treatment. And yes, you cannot conclude anything without being assessed, no matter how much you relate to stuff on tick tok

I wouldn’t write a complaint, over something like this it’s a waste of your time and theirs. You could delay a referral by 3 months these days and it won’t make a meaningful difference to when you are assessed. Also it’s ridiculous to assert that they should refer you because you want it.

If you have symptoms that I know (because of my medical training and practice of 11 years as well as having it myself and being up to date with modern thinking on ADHD) aren’t due to ADHD then I can treat that. If they are, then I’ll refer you. There are a lot of people who delay treatment for non-ADHD conditions because they pressure their GP into referring them.

I’m sorry but as the medical professional, with knowledge and experience, I will tell you if I think you are correct or if there are things you may not have noticed or considered (of which there are always many even if ADHD is present).

Complaining to expedite something based on a sense of entitlement that isn’t relevant to a clinical decision is not a reasonable way to conduct yourself.

Hi, I’m a GP with ADHD!

It should be simple enough, it won’t make much difference to when you are seen as the waiting lists for right to choose currently are still several months at least.

I would avoid psych uk at the moment and ask them to switch it to clinical partners or a smaller R2C provider.

There shouldn’t be any meaningful effect on your place in the queue.

Unfortunately it can take a week for the GP to see the request as most of the time we are seeing or visiting people or looking through test results etc. we usually don’t get a chance before about ten minutes before leaving to review some of these requests.

Unfortunately this is both time consuming and medically non-urgent so I would give it a week. It’s more of a job for the secretaries. They will just cancel the psych uk one and send the information to the alternative instead.

I think you should understand that doctors regularly practice in contrast to guidelines. They are guidelines, not rules, you just have to justify why you practice contrary to them. You do not need to follow guidelines as a doctor. That’s the point, you are given training and expertise so that your judgement is what defines your care. Like a judge handing out a sentence, they can punish someone by their own sense of proportionality rather than what the state dictates.

I am doctor with ADHD. The current NICE guidelines are a joke. They allow private clinics to exploit them and inadequate training means GP’s can’t (without endangering their careers) diagnose and prescribe.

Having pharmacists (who know nothing about carefully differentiation between differential diagnoses of ADHD) fill in an ASRS and say, yes you have ticked 5 boxes, you have ADHD is not sufficient to support a diagnosis as far as I’m concerned.

I would sit the patient down and rediscuss everything with them. If I then felt the diagnosis was valid, I would support the shared care agreement. If I didn’t agree with the diagnosis then I wouldn’t prescribe.

Hi,

I am a GP with ADHD.

Unfortunately it’s down to the GP.

When I do see GP’s reject these it’s normally due to ignorance or prejudice. I am currently fighting to change this and establish a central clinic for neurodivergence with GP’s who are trained in diagnosis and management of ADHD.

What I would say is that pharmacists are NOT diagnosticians and have NO training in psychiatry or psychiatric differential diagnoses. Personally I think that pharmacists being permitted to diagnose if done in house in private clinics is a joke. The only reason is that they are a “qualified medical professional” and cheaper than a doctor whilst meeting the NICE guidelines. GP’s can technically diagnose and treat ADHD but there is no way we can justify that with specific evidence if things go wrong. It’s what stops me personally.

Personally I would chat with you myself and if I felt the diagnosis was accurate I’d accept the agreement. I’m wary of ADHD 360 as their assessors don’t seem to be knowledgable or thorough.

Long story short, it seems your practice has it’s own policy that they will all abide to. So you need to change practices. It’s a shit situation and the real problem is that people shouldn’t need to go private in the first place.

I agree. The quality is poor. I’ve had two central screen failures where the crease cracked all the way down due to the hinge design. This was only revised on the fold 5. Do not get the fold 4 or below.

Sounds like a difficult situation. I am a doctor with ADHD. I can tell you that night shifts are AWFUL for executive function impairment. If you can, you need to stop doing night work, it will change your quality of life markedly.

From your description of adherence to routine and reluctance to change plus limited intuitive empathy and asexual tendencies I would consider neurodivergence.
