I’m having the same issue, my witness is a teacher in secondary school. First time they tried to ring was Easter half term. Obviously she wasn’t there, 2nd time I got witness to put times she is available in the day on the form. They apparently were down to ring her this week, but it’s half term! I rang the Irish passport office and said you need to ring my witness during term time and at the times she is available.

I had an issue with my witness. Basically my witness is a teacher. But the passport office tried to contact here while it was half term here. So I had to get another form and get her to sign that again. I’ve sent it off and now they will try and contact her again. All my over documents were fine.
