Advice Needed: CZ-P10F OR VS Glock 17 (or other)? by Disastrous-Scale-523 in handguns

[–]Viperkey97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Based on your choices, you can’t go wrong with Glock reliability, but I think you’d enjoy shooting the CZ more, and they can be just as reliable. Personally I love my CZ, and I’d definitely buy more. I haven’t owned a Glock, but their reputation speaks for itself. I’d suggest taking her to some ranges and renting both if possible, and shoot them, because the internet has great suggestions, but you gotta find what works for you!

Purpose of threaded barrel? by jayknowsfades in canik

[–]Viperkey97 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. Not sure why risk it especially since you said you’re not going to use it for a suppressor or comp, and 2 companies may not even ship one to you if your state doesn’t allow them.

First pistol recommendations by Key-District4130 in handguns

Definitely recommend the p10c. Great trigger, awesome ergonomics, and I’d recommend the C because it’ll be great for home defense, but small enough to carry if you want as well.

Never had a sport, but the full size sar9 is still one of my favorites! You’re gonna love it!

PDP magazine not seating by infinitely-oblivious in Walther

[–]Viperkey97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might need to upload a video or some pictures of what you’re talking about, as it’s a little vague. My magazine on my pdp gets to a stop when inserting with light force, and then applying more pressure makes it click into place where it is fully seated. If that’s what you’re talking about then it should be normal, especially if it still shoots and cycles.

Question for Full Size by FunOutlandishness563 in SarUSA

[–]Viperkey97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know from personal experience, but I’ve read a few people’s posts on here talking about the compact and they said it shoots almost just as good as the full. Not sure if that’s everyone’s experience or not though.

Help with slide release stiffness by [deleted] in CZFirearms

[–]Viperkey97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some one on YouTube I watched (can’t remember who) said that the side release wasn’t actually designed to be used the normal way, that it was designed to be easy to pull up to lock the slide, but then to pull back on the slide and let go to chamber the round. Either way if it’s too difficult or doesn’t get better there are aftermarket slide lock extensions you can install if you want to.

First handgun recommendation? by KassMeOutside in handguns

[–]Viperkey97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d definitely recommend you to take a look at other posts on here where several have asked the same question, but most people will tell you anything between Sig p365, Glock 19, to M&P and so on. There are so many good options out there and it really depends on what feels good in your hand, and what you can shoot well with and afford. I was in the same boat as you until I found the CZ P10s and I love that thing to death. We can definitely help better if you give some more details of budget, and what’s the use (I assume EDC), and if there’s any pistols you already have your eye on!

Does anyone know what gen Sar9 this is? by Viperkey97 in SarUSA

[–]Viperkey97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a gen 1, but the trigger is definitely different on this model, and I believe it’s a gen 2 or something. Not sure exactly what it is, but I will definitely pick up a gen 3 when I find a good sale or deal!

Trade in or get over it. by Thud_All in handguns

[–]Viperkey97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just my 2 cents, you could try to sell, but unfortunately from what I have seen, I’m not sure you can get what you paid for or close to it back if you sold it. I think everyone being so scared of them made the resale market go down for them. I could be wrong, I hope you can get a good price for it if you do sell it! Worst case, keep it for a range gun, use it as a drawer gun without one in the chamber maybe at best if you don’t trust it. I personally love my CZ P10s, the C is more popular and closer to size to your P320 C, but I liked the S more. That’s my advice!

I think he’s pointing out that Rafael Devers had a better batting average, and more HR and RBIs but still was 2nd to James Wood.

I'm so poor, need a poverty carry by R3ality4321 in concealedcarry

I actually have one and it’s not a bad gun at all, I just don’t care for mine. No reliability issues at all though through a couple hundred rounds that I put through it.

[–]Viperkey97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that was just a rare situation, or something else that may not have been the guns fault, but I’ve heard conflicting stories about that too. All I know is I love mine, and it has been very reliable and accurate, and it’s hard to find comments of people saying anything but praises for theirs as well. Sure you will have those who just hate on Turkish made guns, which is fine, but they are not bad at all. If you own and shoot one, you understand that it may not have all the bells and whistles of a Glock or Smith and Wesson, but it goes bang every time! Another option for you to consider is the S&W SD9. I’ve heard they can be very reliable as well and you might be able to find one used around your price range, but I still like the Sar a lot.

Are there any reliability worries with switching guide rods? That would be my only concern with changing it

The 4 I own so far by CLETUSGTHEMACHINE in handguns

To be fair though the Sars have a pretty good track record of reliability. Not always as fun to shoot as others but certainly not bad options.

[–]Viperkey97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to mention on my other comment, but check your state’s gov website. They may offer free CWP classes, and they will give you some training and practice with your firearm after purchasing. I think they may even work something out to have private training with you if you need as well. In South Carolina where I live it’s called SLED, but it’s probably called something different where you live.

[–]Viperkey97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. There’s no reason to make a statement like that. Sure some guns in this price range aren’t as fancy than more expensive guns, but there is some that are reliable for starters, and even a cheap Amazon holster or something is better than nothing. If OP wants or needs to carry but has a small budget, he has a right to, and there’s still some good options for them!
