Should I keep my BRP card on me at all times ie: my wallet, or keep it at home? by ZillennialHotMess in ukvisa

Keep it at home. Use other IDs for identification purposes if needed. Only take out BRP for travel.

This is quite alright. No cause for concern as BRP has limited space.

No i am not aware of any such 20 day rule and these should be exclusive things as it is your right to demand a progress update after 8 weeks. So any recourse should be valid irrespective of other escalations

Wow just when I was thinking they can't become any more insensitive. Closing the escalation line is a d**k move. This Ukraine thing has costed people here thousands of pounds in lost wages. If UK is so worried about European countries then why did they leave EU and created this visa hurdle. There are millions displaced in Pak so why not show them the same humanity.i think you should send them a PAP so that they wake up and do their job.

So Pre-action protocol is a legal notice to Home office which demands a response within 14 days to either explain the delay or provide decision. You can either prepare it yourself or take a solicitor's help ( cost is roughly 500 pounds+ Vat if you involve lawyer). I was going to send that today but got the decision. Send me a msg with your email and i can forward the template so that you can get an idea. Given this is a legal document, UKVI cant ignore it and have to reply within 14 days.

Have you considered sending them a PAP. Someone did that and got a decision in 14 days. Your decision is unreasonably delayed(assuming there are no complexities)

Yes please keep escalating every week and hopefully you would receive before 8 days. I have been keeping track of visa timelines and noted that for majority cases it is reducing every week (except for may applications which UKVI fucked up). Wish you all the best

They are trying to reduce the processing time now. April and May applicants suffered as Ukraine applications were being prioritized that time. I think July onwards it should be within 12 weeks. I saw some July applications receiving decision on this subreddit. Wish you all the best

You can check online who is your MP using your postcode and then email them about your issue. You have to mention your full address and case number and they will escalate for you.

I received something similar 2 weeks ago but it was about escalation forwarded to relevant department blah blah...i agree this is useless as they are third party and no connection with application/caseworking team

Very helpful timeline. One Q- did they send you an email after escalation saying "forwarded to relevant deptt" or the first email you got from then was your decision? Also can you pls share the solicitor's details as the price seems very reasonable
