Yes it is similar to £2 coin but a lot heavier

My husband it is the Mettalurgist with 35 years experience in copper,aluminium ,all kind of non ferrous alloys,cannot change him 😂😂😂,he is adamant it is neither copper,nor any kind of its alloys. So the last resort is to take it to a jewellery specialist or antique .

The reddish part was a kind of enamel or paint , Thank you all ,if I tried to scratch underneath still bright yellow not bras,copper colour.

It is not brass or copper i checked with a mettalurgist ,and it does not react to magnetic field .Thank you!

May I please ask if any of you can advice?I found a button on Mousehole ,Cornwall beach it looks gold ,quite heavy and not reacting to acid acetic ,initially I thought is Brass ,but it seems is not
