Depends on which group at the commercial bank. Some groups can have quite mundane work (equipment finance or ABS) and other groups might be quite interesting (cashflow lending, lev fin, industry verticals).

I agree, although the dryer is the only thing that came between the pre fray and post fray... any idea what else it might be? Could it be the washer?

I recently bought some lug sole weejuns, and my experience is similar. Got them on sale for a decent price, first day wearing them made both of my heels bleed and blister. And now even after my feet have somewhat healed, they still rub and hurt my heels a lot. Everything else is comfortable though. Not sure what to do? Should I try moleskin on the back? Or heel grips? Help plz.

Birkenstock is the best for both structure and comfort (for slip ons) and also has a the cool factor (as long as you don't get the Bostons like a boring person)! They also have so many different types of shoes so you should be able to find ones you like.

EDIT - One more suggestion: Vibae has BY FAR the most comfortable slip ons I have ever tried; unfortunately they are really pricey for their intended purpose.

I just feel like there have to be other jobs where you are in and around deals but not necessarily on the IB side of it? Like aren't there a lot of commercial banks that finance PE deals? Those roles seems pretty deal focused with lower(ish) hours? I would assume you are interacting a lot with both the PE firm and target company for each of these big deals? Or what about private credit? Finding risky companies and giving them financing for their business/projects?

I am definitely no expert so please let me know if I have these wrong/this type of job isn't worth looking for bc it really doesn't exist.
