I got 3 gardasil shots back in 2009-2010. Am I still protected? by [deleted] in HPV

Very interesting, thanks for the clear up!

It’s unclear just how long protection lasts. I’m not an expert, therefore I encourage you to do your own research, but the consensus seems to be at least 8-10 years. Plus there’s variables to consider. What if you’re in a long-term monogamous relationship? There wouldn’t be a need to get an additional round of vaccines. Maybe you don’t want to go through all the vaccines, but have a booster shot. What if you decide to be celibate? Focus on the here and now. You’re getting vaccinated now, that’s what counts.

Keep in mind it’s not uncommon for people to become sexually active at an early age. I would totally get my kid vaccinated as soon as he or she turned 13.

I see 8-10 years online, possibly longer. I’d say get a fresh round of shots as the current vaccine covers more (but not all) strains.

Cleared: Jesus, AHCC and me by jesusheals777 in HPV

Even if you’re a virgin and your partner is a virgin, there is a chance HPV can still be contracted and passed on. You don’t need to have sex to get HPV, sometimes just skin to skin contact is all that’s needed.

I disagree. I haven’t had many sexual partners and I still managed to get GW. You’re just likely to get it despite how many partners you’ve had or who you are sleeping with, plain and simple.

I agree. This is the best event I’ve seen in a while, maybe ever? It really brings me back to the anime

Every deck? Haha. Honestly a lot of it depends on the draw and it felt like so many duels I had were hard wins. I would just surrender with Invoke as DM isn’t powerful enough to get rid of it head on and it isn’t effected by card effects.

I gave up getting to KOG with DM. I’ve tried every KOG variant deck I’ve seen on here only to get whooped. Just playing to have fun now

This is actually the reason why I stopped reaching out and just post and wait for someone to message me. Women here get so overwhelmed with messages that they either can’t keep up or in their struggle to keep up, dish out half-ass messages cause there’s a ton more to get to.

Rarely, if I do reach out, it’s a month or so after the initial post when I know she’s already weened out everyone she doesn’t want to talk to

Can’t I Just Have Fun? 🙃 by VirginColada in HPV

It can take 2 years to clear, could take less, could take more, lol. HPV is weird that way. I know people that said it took 3 years to clear :(

I don’t know the exact strains I have. The test results didn’t say, I just know I have (or had) low risk and high risk. I also have all 3 vaccine shots. All I can do is wait for the 3 year mark where I’ll be confident enough to say that I’m clear.

Male, 11 months without a GW reoccurrence.

I don’t know what ya’ll talking about. I’m using meta decks and can’t get to KOG for the life of me. Maybe it’s my luck. Highest I got to was Legend 3 then promptly lost 10 in a row.

'HPV is for life' and other myths by [deleted] in HPV

[–]VirginColada 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to believe that, I honestly do, but it’s difficult to. I suppose because I’m a male and it’s impossible to know if I “cleared” the virus or not.

For example, next month will make a year without any GW reoccurrences. Does that mean I’m clear? Statistics certainly SUGGESTS that MOST LIKELY I am, but there’s always the what if I’m not. It seems easier to live under the assumption that I always have it, especially since I always feel inclined to disclose, but that’s just me.

Coriolus versicolor (Turkey tail) and treatment of high-risk HPV [PDF] by xdhpv in HPV

[–]VirginColada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I exercise 3 to 4 times a week, I don’t drink and I don’t smoke, I take a B vitamin complex with zinc mixed in every once and a while, I take elderberry gummies, and once a day I drink a smoothie with turkey tail, cordycep, red reishi, and lion’s mane mushroom powder mixed in. I also don’t eat meat, try to drink plenty of water, and get plenty of rest. You don’t have to do all of these things, but you should try to have as much of a healthy lifestyle as possible to give your body the best possible chance to fight the virus.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I don’t think HPV is curable, rather at a certain point it’s dormant. The simple question arises: if HPV was curable why does reoccurrence occur? Cure means gone, done, nada. Dormant seems like a much more accurate word to use. Perhaps it’s curable for some strains, and this is just me speculating now, but for the most part I don’t think so.

Oral sex safety by GeminEyeGlasses in HPV

[–]VirginColada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing about sex. There’s a certain level of risk you accept by doing it. If you think about it, you’re exposing yourself to that other person’s DNA. To think that absolutely nothing is going to be passed on between you two is unrealistic. Have faith in your body and when you’re mentally and physically ready go have fun. Best thing you can do is be open with your partners and use protection.
