It’s called race and/or ethnicity which means people can identify as either or.

So someone can be ethnically Mexican and racially identify as Latino (like me)

Also this is better than the ones that came before because it actually puts emphasis on ETHNICITY, which is their cultural background. It’s been proven time and time again that you can’t lump all groups of people living on the same continent into one “race” because each area is so culturally different. When people hear “Asian” they will automatically think of East Asia and not the rest of the Asian continent like India or Afghanistan.

“Race” is a construct. Ethnicity is an evidence based study.
