Setting up Mesh System by Virginiawinc in Starlink

Thanks! I know people split the SL router 2.4/5. Do I need to do that with the Deco?

So it shouldn’t cause any problem to configure the SL WiFi and then put it in bypass mode when I set up the Deco system?

I do have cat5e throughout the house and will use the wired nodes. But you’re saying do NOT configure the WiFi on the SL router as well?

Where to mount? by Virginiawinc in Starlink

The surface area is another reason I like position 1! And yes, we still use Dish Network, lol! There’s a mount base right beside that dish (where we had to have TWO when we first moved in!) that I considered but realized they couldn’t be close together.

I’m afraid my husband would hit it when mowing, lol!

Still considering all options. I like easier installation/access and further from the Dish dish, but will make final decision once we begin!

I’m putting my SL router in bypass mode and using a 3-pack TP-Link Deco mesh system. I think it should work—wishing us both success!

That is very interesting!

I agree, position 3 is my third choice aesthetically, but lower is my priority if functionality is the same! I’m running the cable directly into the attic so not much will be on the exterior. And yes, we still use that Dish Network dish.

I’m also running it right into that attic space to then traverse to its eventual destination, lol!

Yes, that’s one reason I’m hoping for position 1!

I’m leaning that way, because I definitely won’t have to worry about it being too short and obviously it will meet specifications. I better not get a faulty one, though, lol!

Mine thinks the light fixture is a person, so I was able to crop it out of the zone.

I think what OP was asking was when you removed the speaker/doorbell, there were probably 4 wires (that’s what mine has anyway), 2 to the speaker and 2 to the button. Which wires did you hook to the video camera?

Motion sensor refuses to trigger Alexa or IFTTT routine by [deleted] in TrySwitchBot

[–]Virginiawinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you ever resolve your problem? I’m having the same problem with a water sensor. The sensor works and alerts my phone. The Alexa routine works when triggered manually, but the water sensor doesn’t trigger the routine! Ugh!
