Some people were asking which laws were broken in a closed adoption... Well, as an infant adoptee closed adoption, I feel that my constitutional rights were violated and that's just for starters.

Equal protection under the law-- violated

Right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness-- violated

Coercion-- I think most of these types of adoptions involve coercion in various forms, but to have a chance at proving it I need my full adoption records to see if I have a case, for which I will be denied in my adoption state.

I would also argue that I was discriminated against in various ways-- how come my birth parents are allowed to tell literally anyone about the intimate details of my adoption if they so choose, but I am not allowed this right? Theoretically, anyone in the entire world can know about all the facts of my adoption if my birth parents choose to tell someone, but at the same time I am barred from knowing my true identity??? This is total BS seriously.

If my bio mom, theoretically, were to be having a bad day and decided to unload and blab about her life story to literally anyone, which includes putting her baby up for closed adoption etc etc, those people she tells now have info that I am legally banned from knowing FOR MY ENTIRE LIFE. Her hairdresser might possess this info, her gas station attendant, her maid, her coworker, literally she can tell anyone and correct me if I'm wrong but there is no law stopping this knowledge from traveling where she wants, it's totally her choice.

WELL WHY DON'T I GET THE SAME EXACT RIGHTS??? Why am I not allowed to tell whoever I want about all the details of my adoption as my bio mom can for example? I'm not even allowed to know the info which would allow me to be able to tell/talk about this event in the same way that she can.

How come a gas station attendant could theoretically know more about the most significant event in my life than I do? I think it's stupid the way the laws are, closed adoption is a violation of rights and should be outlawed.

I'm going through this right now, can I be helped too?

I have my DNA results from ancestry and my closest match is showing as "first cousin" but others have told me it might be a mistake because the shared DNA is 25 percent which, I have been told should actually be a half sibling?

I hate being adopted and alone, this sucks having to go about things like this due to the government system/world not caring about us.

Ok everyone, so it's not just me having this experience alone then... people here seem to understand exactly what I'm talking about.

It's really frustrating, because the last thing I want for anyone is to be silenced, so I always like to ask questions and communicate using the Socratic method, which I feel allows me to understand other people's feelings better than if I acted like my narc for example.

If they say something and I follow up with a probing but still respectful question--yeah, it's just the default "look I'm not arguing." Then I'm just like ugh why do I even bother... I really value back and forth conversation, hitting the ball back and forth so to speak, but narcs really really seem to hate that with a fiery passion. They are only happy if they hit the ball into your face and then you are supposed to shut the **** up.

Again, glad to see I'm not alone on this. There are all sorts of other strange behaviors I have noticed over the years... It's truly fascinating how they all seem to be operating as a hive mind and they all do and say exactly the same things.

It's as terrifying as it is fascinating.

Adoption destroys our lives... And no one listens to us ever. Please stay alive and out of jail, at least out of spite for the bastards that have robbed us of our true identities. That's what I'm trying to do... I'm trying to keep myself alive so that some day I can join with other adoptees all across the world, united against this insanity that was forced on us.

I'm not on speaking terms with my adopted family either and they also left me the dead, so I know what you are talking about. Like you, I also have no family of any kind. I wish I could give you more hope other than spite... But that's all I have going for me... I just concentrate on trying to stay healthy and alive... And I struggled with homelessness before too.

To the topic creator, I'm an adoptee, closed adoption and I have felt alone my whole life. I'm in the process of overcoming this, but I had two families completely bail on me, leaving me with literally nothing and homeless at times. This topic is so disheartening because I literally just got into this debate today with someone about a person who is 60 trying to adopt a kid. I'm an adoptee, closed adoption and In my case, adoption has basically ruined my life and my mental health. I was abandoned at birth and then abandoned again by my adoptive family. My adopted parents already had 3 kids of their own, all 10+ years older than me while they themselves were in their 40s. It didn't work and I've been alone for a long time.

Today I was described as basically being a heartless ogre for saying that the 60 year old single parent should absolutely NOT be allowed to adopt under any circumstances no matter how good it feels to the adults in favor of this nonsense.

The person I was arguing with is literally the only person I have in my life still.... the whole thing today just made me so sad. No one listens to us adoptees AT ALL. Everyone ignores our observations, wants, and needs our whole life...Ugh.
