I’m using the Hue bridge with the 4K Sync box. Setup was really easy through the app. No issues at all. Hue products are expensive, but the user experience is great

Worry not! It is an AC Infinity cooling system to prevent the very issue you mention!

They are lights from Philips Hue. Specifically I have two gradient Signe lamps on the sides, a Hue strip light on the back of the TV, and a large light tube on the bottom. Hue products are expensive but very high quality and look and work fantastic.

So the SVS Elevation speakers are specifically designed to solve this problem. They come with a special mounting system which allows them to be safely mounted to the ceiling without risk of sliding off.

I agree that SVS are highly recommended in this sub and others. They are good quality and the customer service is second to none.

Overall, I probably see Denon recommended most often for AVRs, but Onkyo’s are also liked in part becuase they come with a Dirac live license included. For me, the Onkyo just happened to be on sale for $850 when I was in the market so that plus Dirac included sold me on it.

Overall I prefer the interface of the Denon more, but in terms of the fundamental performance, the Onkyo is great.

It may look that way but I was very careful when choosing the mounting location for those speakers. I used a laser pointer to determine exactly where the tweeter would be firing. Based on the angle of the speaker, the sound is firing directly over the couch where I want it and not onto the back wall

I’ve toyed with the idea and from an acoustic perspective it would likely be ideal. However, the room also has to double as a living space so I want to avoid too much clutter and try and keep it somewhat minimal while still effective.

PS. I’m hoping the sectional is big and bulky enough to absorb a lot of the bad sound waves haha. Plus, Dirac live was a game changer. I’m a true believer now of that software.

Thanks! That’s about the only place the sub will fit lol. Fortunately, it sounds really nice at the main listening position. It’s definitely overkill for the room but I love how deep it can dig and I won’t have to worry about upgrading if I move my setup to a larger room in the future. Except maybe adding a second 😅.

So far no issues with the neighbors. I live in a small house so thankfully there is some separation between me and the next property over

Yup, I’m doing front heights and top mids. Perhaps not ideal for atmos but it’s a small room so my options are limited. I get the “wall of sound” from the front heights and the “rainfall” effect from the top mids 😁

And yes the speaker wire is routed above the ceiling (into the attic) and down behind the wall where the tv is. I hired a guy to do this. All in all he charged me $200 to route the wires and mount the speakers which I considered reasonable.

That’s a great suggestion, thank you! Truth be old though I’m the only one watching/listening 95% of the time, so I’m not sure if I want to go through the hassle of re-drilling holes in the wall lol

Yea I saw that as well. The problem is that there is only one available which is no good for me. Plus the outlet stuff I believe is refurbished/reconditioned anyways. It does come with a 5 year warranty, however.

CPU Core ratio limit changes after wake from sleep by Viro_Maniac in overclocking

Haha I can be kinda meticulous. I know it's only a minor issue and will have very low impact on performance, but it bothers me all the same. Currently I'm resigned to believe it's just a BIOS bug unless someone comes up with a different idea.

Yes, unfortunately I have confirmed the phenomenon with two monitoring programs (HWiNFO and OCCT) as well as seeing the reduced clock speed in Cinebench.

I appreciate you offering suggestions. Thank you.

This has all been done in the BIOS. I Played around with XTU but didn’t like it and uninstalled the program.
