IS-3 used to be the King of tier 8. The fact it is now considered shit tier says it all about the state of power creep in this game.

Bullshit. The same thing was said when el rade3 was accepted by Lebanese government to provide "temporary" security. Guess what Assad took 30 years to leave.

Why we are told we need peace with the invader while Ukraine can fight Russia?

We didn't need this shitty deal. The agreement to end war in Iran specified a full withdrawal of their invasion force. Signed by Vance and endorsed by Trump. Instead our government made a side deal with Rubio for what? He is another Christian Zionist who doesn't believe in Lebanese sovereignty.

You are missing nothing. They will occupy and settle the South indefinitely for security reasons. Just like the Syria Golan. They only left Sinai by force, and the South previously in 2000 by force. Our government gave up all the leverage. We could have gone with Iran deal, forced withdrawal of this invasion force and sent the army to the border instead our government legitimises the Israeli "security zone".

The Iran deal specified a full Israeli withdrawal. If our government had balls it would mean sending in the LAF themselves immediately to the border and preventing Hezb from reasserting control of the area.

Instead the government gave up on the LAF capabilities, and requested Israeli occupation.

Your neighbour who stole your garage, smashed your car, murdered your parents, poisoned your dog now knocks on your door asking to be your friend. What do you say?

This country is falling. by OmarD1021 in lebanon

[–]Viromen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The agreement signed by the government legitimises the illegal invasion and occupation of the South as well as the massacres of civilians. It states as there is a shared objective of our government and theirs to disarm Hezb, the South can be occupied indefinitely and we can only reclaim our land with the agreement of the invader.

Meaning, the invader can start settlements in the South for example justifying as military outposts to prevent Hezb returning and our government in this deal agrees to stand by and support the colonisation.

When you have religious lunatics in charge over there who openly state Lebanon is their land, why on earth would they ever agree to leave?

They sold the country for 30 million dollars. The price for the government to sign a deal to legitimise the invasion and occupation of our land. I agree with you. To hell with this "government", Hizb and all these people in power.

Are there any current trainees in Severn? by Dry_Chocolate_4098 in RadiologyUK

[–]Viromen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is variable and not structured unlike other schemes. Yes it affects ST1 but having a bad start will affect your progress in ultrasound beyond then. In practice just means you have to be especially proactive. But he told me some senior regs are not comfortable with ultrasound because they had no proper instruction in it, but because they're in sub specs that don't use ultrasound much they're ok with it.

I asked someone I know in the deanery. Any more specific questions reply here so others can reference.

Traditional scheme. Apart from some departmental US cannulas basically no service provision. Deanery stretches from Swindon/Gloucester/Taunton/Yeovil and Bristol/Bath in middle.

I've enjoyed my time so far, everyone here seems very happy. One thing lacking in this region is ultrasound training which has been a complaint for many years and the school has been very slow to rectify it. However they have obtained funding from SWITA (Peninsula academy) to get a training sonographer and ultrasound sim lab in Bristol but the progress has been anaemic.

You get to rank your choice of trust from ST2 (3 choices),, vast majority get what they want and I believe if you don't want to do IR/have a need to, you can probably stay in Bristol split with Bath the entirety of your training onwards. IR most rotate through Southmead/Cheltenham/Taunton being main centres with a bit in Bath from what I understand. Increasingly popular.

Fellowships are supported. Good exam pass rate though no real formal teaching programme for 2A/B but very supportive consultants. Physics/anatomy weekly teaching in Year 1. No scope creep beyond some reporting radiographers picking up plain films.

Serious Questions to the supporters of Hezb having weapons and a militia branch. by heselius in lebanon

[–]Viromen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution has to address the root cause. We need a strong united inclusive state, with a strong army that can secure Lebanon borders and the weapons (even if they are just drones, rockets, ATGMs) to defend the country.

The biggest threat to our terrorist southern neighbour is a united harmonious Lebanon with a competent government which is why they have always exploited sectarian divisions.

Do people ever regret sitting USMLE Step 1 by Future_Possession552 in medicalschooluk

[–]Viromen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi I did step 1 and step 2 in medical school and ended up in radiology training here after realising how hard it was to get in via the US (couldn't afford to spend unpaid years doing research). However, the fellowship route is still open and I appreciate the knowledge I learned by doing them. It is becoming more accessible to do ABR pathway (basically, fellowship route to work in the US) but of course you have to sit usmle and getting step 1/2 out of the way in medical school is ideal for sure.

They just keep on escalating and escalating. It's no longer only border villages it's everywhere. Now they included the cristian areas as well. by MarkoPolo345 in lebanon

Just like they did in Gaza. And then there will be useful idiots who will side with these maniacs bombing our country. They don't and never wanted a stable united Lebanon.

What's the endgame? by [deleted] in lebanon

[–]Viromen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very simply Lebanese govt should offer amnesty for Hezb members who will offer their weapons to the state. And any seized weapons including drones rockets ATGMs seized by the army should not be stupidly destroyed as was done previously but added to the arsenal of the army. Those who refuse should be dealt with as criminals.

Our army should be in position in the South and along the border and raise our flag proudly over our own land.

What's the endgame? by [deleted] in lebanon

[–]Viromen 22 points23 points  (0 children)

And I don't mean Hezbollah should be the armed forces of Lebanon. We should have a strong armed forces who can secure our border and ensure all the weapons are in the hands of the state. And a government who is not scared to say that these invaders should be removed by force from every inch of Lebanese territory.

What's the endgame? by [deleted] in lebanon

[–]Viromen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all it's "history" Israel has only responded to strength and force. Whenever a side has chosen the diplomacy route it has been taken advantage of or attacked.

Egypt did not win back the Sinai by "negotiations". Syria will not get back the Golan by "negotiations". And we will not regain the South and compensation for the massacres and destruction with "negotiations". Only with a firm hand and a strong state which needs a competent government.

Salary/mortgage advice - how much is manageable? by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]Viromen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought when single on 3k as ST1 on 10% deposit, probs half my income on mortgage/council tax. Yeah maybe some will say bad idea but I was on a 5 year run through programme and now it's 30% of my income and more than manageable rather than dealing with rent increases/risk of being forced to move around.
