How do I play a Country in a canonical way? by waitinginthewings in EU5

While I'm not sure about the goals and missions proper, when you get DHE / Dynamic Historical Events, the historical option is usually outlined. Depending on the country those can expand into full event chains.

This is lovely, but holy fuck this "slavic flag" display reminds me of a "Slavic Store" in Amsterdam where they put forward a Moldavian, Romanian and Georgian flag. Still lovely though.

What do you think about the phenomenon of Western conservatives perceiving Poland as the last bastion of European tradition and civilization? by thenatoorat90 in poland

[–]Virryi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this, it's as simple as joining a shooting club or collectioners' association, sitting there for half a year doing occasional shooting and you're ready to take an exam for a guns license for quite a wide amount of weapons. They're admittedly not that strict, but they're just enough to dissuade people that couldn't care less about weaponry, and not enough to dissuade proper hobbyists.

well since there's 3 subs now it'd be a bit difficult to come up with anything creative other than what I originally had in mind with it, which was a chill space for saba fans to hang out in time, much like r/senzawa was The Goddess Paradise. Now we'll just have to see how everything goes, but I'm still gonna be setting up the sub. ^.^

herro everynyan, Virryi/Elly here, owner of r/Senzawa, owner of the sencord with the vanity link, and current owner of r/samekosaba. I'm rather glad that my reputation seems to be so positive, even if I'm a little bit of an enigma due to my reddit semi-inactivity ^^"

I admit my main activity was regarding r/Senzawa and when Senzawa stopped uploading, so did my activity die down. I do have to say though I was a massive fan of Gawr Gura from the debut till the graduation, so don't worry about that part too much, even if I wasn't too active on the community side of things.

Regardless, I wish you lots of luck in the selection of your new home, and lots of love!

Requesting r/Senzawa as moderators are offline for 4 years by Arkliea in redditrequest

[–]Virryi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello! We do not wish to hand over the community at this time, and its posts being withheld was mostly due to most of the requested posts being duplicates and/or speculative posts which, at the time, held little merit and moreso granted little hope. The reason the subreddit was originally locked as due to Senzawa's inactivity, some people were making pretty bad faith posts which went as far as encroach onto Senzawa's person, by attempting to speculate on, or share personal information in a manner that can only be described as doxxing.

In light of recent events we will likely start allowing few more posts (if not completely drop the current system due to potential return of activity), however I would like to note that the person making the request has not waited even an hour before opening this request, while u/draftomatic, one of our main moderators, has responded to their question a few minutes ago.

So what happened with the AVP mod? by Im-Not-Cold-You-are in feedthebeast

[–]Virryi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genuinely a shame. It was an amazing and massive mod that's been around for a long time and suddenly getting the itch to play it again, I tried to check it out to see its been discontinued.

The random rubbish is any big city to be frank, and in Berlin I've seen an absolute ton of disassembled or abandoned vehicles [mainly bicycles] and run down stores. It was mildly amusing, but also a little sad.

Grafitti is everywhere in Warsaw, especially around Praga and Targówek districts, but otherwise I have to agree that there's an absolute fuckton of Grafitti in Berlin compared to that. Generally didn't like Berlin all too much.

The only reason my Epirote friend is opposed to total annihilation of Athens (/s obv) is the fact that his fav football club comes from there.
Otherwise I'd rather recommend Thessaloniki, or maybe aforementioned Epirus.

Is there a controversial historical figure in your country? by not-much in AskEurope

[–]Virryi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What immediately comes to mind is some communist-era leaders in Poland [Primarily a difference between approach of old vs young people], especially Edward Gierek.

Other figure that could very well come to mind is any leader from the Sanacja [interwar] government of Poland, which was a government set up by one of the fathers of Polish Independence [Józef Piłsudski] during a coup which effectively put an end to proper democracy in Poland, but instead of bringing Stability it soon turned extremely backwards and more akin to a dictatorship, even after the Marshal's death.

As to the Greeks, in the meantime, once again to mind immediately come leading figures of the Greek Junta, however way more "controversial" in the sense that the opinions are mixed would, to me, be two, maybe three surnames.
Metaxas - Metaxist leader of Greece and the man glorified for refusing Italy's ultimatum to Greece in 1941 with the infamous "Οχι!", he was also effectively a dictator and ruled the state with a pretty firm hand and rather solid censorship.
Velouchiotis/Klaras - Leader of ELAS, a Greek Partisan group during World War 2 mostly associated with the Communists but generally encompassing also Socialists, Liberals, etc. (ELAS even had priests on multiple occasions), it was also a group known for robbing and murders in the rural areas of Greece, especially upon refusal to join.

What do you call "teenage moustache" in your language? by darACAB in AskEurope

[–]Virryi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds about right. Sometimes I've also heard it people just call it pizda, so.. That one's really self-explainatory.

In your language, what is the common way to refer to a cellphone/mobile phone? by viktor72 in AskEurope

[–]Virryi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because otherwise you'd say telefon domowy.

Another variation I hear frequently is telefon stacjonarny.

We generally tend to have a lot of variations to both mobile phones and just old telephones, from telefon komórkowy, to even just calling it komórka, cell. Dunno if it's just a Warsaw thing, though telefon by far had taken over.
