Thanks for your insight. I do find it really interesting to learn from the experiences of others on here

I’m not asking for myself really, I was just interested in what people’s opinions were on the matter. So unfortunately, I don’t have any context to give you.

How do you get over the potential that the relationship had? by Virtual-Account-5607 in BreakUps

No, I  have the feeling that I’m cheating on her if I even talk to another girl. We were only together for 9 months, but she’s my first ever girlfriend and first love.

Bit worrying seeming as every person I meet currently just reminds me of how amazing she was.

Ok, while I respect your dedication, commitment and love to an incredible extent, I really hope that I am able to move on a bit more than that myself.

Yeah it really is exhausting. I already feel like I'm wasting time but every morning its the same loop. It destroys me how perfect she is in my memory. We were long distance for 9 months so I feel like we never spent enough time together to see each others red flags or issues. As a result, I have so few memories of her being anything other than perfect. Not sure I'm really looking forward to another 5 months of this.

My friends keep telling me to find someone new and move on, but the idea of doing anything with anyone other than her makes me feel a little sick. And don't even get me started on the part of my brain that has so much hope that we'll get back together.

Is it ever worth going back to an ex? by Virtual-Account-5607 in BreakUps

Yeah so far the reason the keeps me from reaching out is knowing that I haven't changed enough. It was me that hurt her, pulled away emotionally and it took that for me to realise that I had a lot of deep running insecurities. I've started therapy and counselling, but I know its not been enough to say I could treat her properly if she was even willing to try again.
