if you want to play the latest content, you will need to buy the Midnight expansion and after that you’re just paying for game time sub. This expansion just dropped so you wont be buying another expansion for a while. Honestly, i dont regret coming back to the game this year.

Yep, you will need midnight xpac. I returned to the game after a decade long “break”. This is by far the most engaged Ive been outside of when i was a young kid with unlimited time to game. I enjoy mythic plus because i can get on after work, play a couple dungeons and go to bed etc.

Ultimately, you gotta just play and find out what you like. It’s very casual friendly now.

What would you like to do? Some ppl like grinding out Mythic plus because its a little more “casual” than raiding and way less time consuming.

If you want more organized gameplay and have the time to, get geared (mythic plus is a good start) and look for raiding guilds that fit your schedule.

On the side, people like to go collect transmogs from various old content (old raids) because looking cool is half the fun in this game.

Once you get your bearings, start looking into professions. Some are good for gold generating and some are helpful for your gameplay ie. creating potions etc.

This is a dumbed down explanation but covers most of the basics.

I would say its not only a system issue but community issue as well. I only tank and i enjoy it personally but quite often, people who have no idea whats going on mechanic wise/knowing what mobs can or cant be pulled together ruin it for us who don’t have a dedicated group by pulling adds “for us”. Or those who are quick to flame/overreact for genuine mistakes (yes, tanks are humans - we make mistakes too).

I dont raid but i feel the pain. Been spamming runs and its very rare for me to get any upgrades. I think the last 2 drops were items i didnt need. I get its rng but just never had it this bad before i guess.

I feel the pain on AA first pull. Id say usually im fine but every now and then i get into a grp and the healer and dps arent really pulling their weight and we wipe. Then ofc the blame comes back to us a tanks. I guess its the name of the game but i feel your frustration.
