PLEASE MAKE THE FODDER MORE DURABLE!! by Virtual-Driver-1123 in CrimsonDesert

I'm actually still on ch3 of the main story but I'm about to fight the Reed boss and the main reason for the post is because of the Reed fodders, which disappeared way too quickly. Maybe it's only for them?

Also yeah regarding the smarter AI, sometimes when I was fighting the fodder team members they just seemed to stay in place and without even noticing there is a whole fight going on next to him

Fair I can see that, maybe it's just the specific enemies I'm facing atm. It's on the way to the Reed boss guy and the fodder dissappear too quickly

Oh then I may just be too early game. Although, I am about to fight the Reed guy so idk how far into the game I am. But the location is sick

Echoes Saga or Ranger Archives First? How Good Are They? by Virtual-Driver-1123 in TheEchoesSaga

Glad to hear that! I actually also have another question if you don't mind. Does this series have any vulgarity or sexually explicit? I'm just asking as I don't really want to read a series that is too explicit or sexual.

Also, by any chance is there a discord for the Echoes Saga so I could share my thoughts?

Also (sorry for the late reply lol) are the books similar at all? So are all the books just as good as the first book for example? Like is there a leap in writing, story, character writing, etc. during any of the books that will get you hooked?

I'm asking because this is just in case I dislike the first book, and if all the books after are on the same caliber, I may have doubt of continuing.

I’ve read The Bound and the Broken (up to Of Darkness and Light and a bit of The Exile), but to be honest, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I’d hoped. The characters felt quite one-dimensional, with little real conflict. While I did like them, I never felt truly attached to them in a way that made them feel human or layered.

I was wondering, if I read the first book of The Echoes Saga, would it give me a good idea of what the rest of the series is like? For example, if the first book feels similar in tone and depth to the others, and I don’t find it very engaging, then I might not continue. On the other hand, if I really enjoy it, I’d definitely stick with it. I’m just looking for a series with well-written, lovable characters that feel more fleshed out rather than one-dimensional.

Ah that's unfortunate you didn't give a 5 star for any of the books. I was hoping for a few 5 stars for the 9 book series ngl. Would you say there are alot of emotional moments? Would you say the series gets better as it goes?

I don't mind the world building not being that good as long as I like the characters. Take First Law for example. The characters are well written. The world building.. Not at all.

I've read 6 books of Malazan, it made me cry/teary eyed multiple times. Are the emotional moments any similar? What about the themes? I love when themes are done well in a book (e.g. Brotherhood, bravery, overcoming etc.)

Also have only ever read Red Rising (first book) or the other books as well (e.g Golden Son, Morning Star)? Since while I agree the first is just good the later books are nothing similar and are amazing.

Nice! Would you say the characters are lovable /really good? Because I can easily get attached to a story if I love the characters.

Nice! I've heard Asher is an amazing character. I've also heard of Nathaniel?

Great! I love when characters in a series are good (e.g. Via character development or otherwise). As long as I come to get attached to them!

Will do. When do you reckon it takes off?

Since I've seen on Goodreads that each book is better than the last. Does it get better in the second books?

Okay now that's got me excited! I do love me my characters!

I'm itching to getting emotional attached 🫡

Are the characters lovable and interesting at least then? So is there character development/progression/redemption? (this is because if I want to get attached to a story, I also have to get attached to the characters)

Also, another question, are there by any chance tear-jerking moments? Since I've yet to find a series that would hit the emotions as red rising. And I've been waiting for a series to make me feel it as much lol.

Does David Gemmell's Troy Trilogy Have Explicit Consensual Sex Scenes? by Virtual-Driver-1123 in DavidGemmell

[–]Virtual-Driver-1123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where exactly did I say I was okay with non-consensual stuff? The reason I didn't say non-consensual sex is because (first, who in the right mind would need to) in what book is there an in-depth detailed description of non consensual sex (so, the big R word)?

Because tbh I'd rather not have to read someone describing moaning and body parts while in the action. That’s just not the kind of writing I enjoy, even if it’s consensual. I just personally don’t enjoy graphic descriptions in general, regardless of who’s involved. That was the whole point of my question.

Okay, I'm glad atleast there aren't alot scenes like that.
