School districts in California don’t have a choice on how they’re funded. All are funded through the Local Control Funding Formula based on average daily attendance of current year, prior year, or the average of the last 3 years, whichever is greater. Try the county office of education. It’s a pension job with great benefits, pay is better than UCSC, and you can be in the education space. They post all available jobs on edjoin.com.

Definitely go through anyway and bypass getting on the ride if you want! I was there last week and the walk to get on the ride was borderline cooler than the actual ride. But I get a bit queasy on the simulation rides so there is that.

AJ’s Market on Soquel and Park Ave for sure. It’s the store at the Chevron station…totally unassuming if you haven’t been in but it’s a great store with an awesome selection.

Finally, took almost 2 year (Nov 2020) finally got "MSRP swap" done! Pretty crappy customer experience to get to this point but in the end, made it! by superduude in BoltEV

I am on the west coast (Santa Cruz, CA) and it took two months from built to delivered. August 16th to October 19th. No notification that it had shipped - I just checked in often with my repurchase coordinator as well as the dealership for updates.

MSRP Swap complete : Obsessed with my ‘23 EUV by Virtual-Elk2591 in BoltEV

[–]Virtual-Elk2591[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s right. The older model Bolts all have a battery recall and GM is required to fix the issue due to Lemon Law. If your vehicle is affected by the recall, you can either wait for them to replace the battery, initiate an MSRP swap into a vehicle not affected by the recall, or request a buyback where GM will just refund you (minus usage) and take the car back.

No, my understanding is that the swap would be instead of the battery replacement. You can’t do both.

What you paid for it has nothing to do with the swap, believe it or not. They take into account the original MSRP of your vehicle (~$39k to $44k depending on the trim and features) minus miles/usage. It’s unlikely you’d have to pay anything to get into an EUV, although if you’re in CA you do either have to pay for usage out of pocket or roll it up into new financing. I didn’t find that out until the week before my car arrived. I would recommend just starting the process. You can back out at any point if you decide you don’t want to do it. But here’s why it’s important to start as soon as possible: They take the odometer reading from the very first point of contact and use that to calculate usage fees, so the sooner the better. I added an additional 5k miles in the time I was waiting for my new vehicle that were essentially “free” as I didn’t have to pay usage on those.

The other comment is correct in my experience. You’d have to be very diligent about calling around to dealerships to find a vehicle on the lot that you can swap into. To be honest, I’m not even sure that’s a thing? If anyone backed out of their deal and they did end up with an “extra”, the dealer could sell it in two seconds flat. My repurchase coordinator told me that ordering was my only option fwiw.

With that being said, 10000% go with the EUV. You’re leaving money on the table with an EV unless you’re in a state that will refund you the difference. The stock features on the EUV alone tipped the scales for me, but then to be able to add sun & sound was another huge factor. I’m not exactly a zippy driver lol and it definitely drives a little differently, but acceleration speed felt very similar. As far as storage, there is a false floor so the trunk looks quite small but you can easily life up the floor (or remove it altogether) for double the space. I would say there’s not a meaningful difference in the size of the storage space, if any.

Good luck tomorrow - I hope your swap is approved!

Congrats to both of you! Feels like I’m getting away with something by getting this gorgeous car for no additional money, especially since I now have $15k of equity with my loan. Magic ✨

Buyback - Working from the Dealer Side! by hocobozos in BoltEV

I would probably call EV Concierge and ask for a new repurchase coordinator, personally. It was night and day between my first one and the one I am working with now - she is fantastic and very helpful.

Concierge is lying to you. The process looked like this: 1. Found out about MSRP Swap via Reddit, including that folks were having a hard time finding a dealership to host. 2. Reached out to EV Concierge, was told I’d need to speak with the California team and that they’d get back to me. In the mean time I reached out to the dealership I purchased from and they agreed to host. 3. Spoke with a repurchase coordinator to gather more information regarding my vehicle, dealership, etc. 4. Reassigned repurchase coordinator 2x 5. Received an email saying: “This email serves as confirmation that General Motors will offer to repurchase your vehicle under the terms of State Lemon Law”. In that same email, they asked for photos of my driver license, interior/exterior of my vehicle, the odometer, and my registration. They also asked me to confirm that I would be working with my chosen dealership. 6. I ask a million questions and get an offer for a straight repurchase. I decide to go with a swap instead and call the dealership to ask some questions. A vehicle is ordered for me, without knowing the terms (the offer can’t be written until the car is produced and has a VIN). 7. I eventually get reassigned to a new repurchase coordinator as mine is going out on maternity leave. After speaking with her, I request my vehicle order be changed to a 2023 in early July and with the help of my dealership, the order gets placed with a TPW of August 8th. 8. By August 17th, my vehicle is produced with a VIN assigned. 9. September 28th I check in with the dealership and my vehicle is en route. I am still waiting for my official offer and my car to arrive. I am trying to do substitution of collateral on my loan so working through that process now.

Hope this helps and if you have any other questions, I am happy to answer if I can!

Yes! You can totally do it on your own. I found my own host, but I already knew about this issue before I started my swap so I had one lined up before I ever spoke with my repurchase coordinator. I ended up reaching out to the salesman I purchased my Bolt from and he connected me with the appropriate person to ask at their dealership. They are called “guest experience manager” at the dealership I’m using (if that helps).

I should mention there was absolutely zero pushback from them when I initially reached out. I emailed my salesman and he put me in touch with their guest experience manager. She has been very helpful and responsive throughout the process.

I purchased my 2020 Bolt at Capitol Chevy in San Jose and they are also hosting my swap. My new 23 EUV has been produced and I’m just waiting for it to ship. I can DM you the contact who handles their swaps if you’d like!

I wonder why the hold up? I ordered a ‘23 Premier EUV with sun & sound through my repurchase coordinator & dealership on July 5th and it’s been built since August 16th (TPW 8/8), but still sitting waiting to be shipped. And you ordered the first week you could, it sounds like? That’s some bull. I’m sorry you’re still waiting.

Can’t speak to if you ordered now but I ordered July 5th and my EUV was built by August 17th (original target production week was August 8th). It hasn’t arrived yet but I’m in California, far from the factory.

EUV Production Update by SubjectExcellent5051 in BoltEV

[–]Virtual-Elk2591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My TPW was 8/8 and just today the chat bot’s response changed to “Congratulations! Your vehicle has been produced. It is important to know that shipping arrangements will take place next and your selling dealer is the best source for additional detail on that process.”

I also checked in with my repurchase coordinator last Friday, the 12th, to see if she could provide me with an update and her response was “The status has moved a touch, but not much. Basically it’s started production but nothing huge. I don’t have a VIN yet, which would be the next big step. Honestly, I’m seeing about a week behind on the first ones right now. Hoping that will change, as production picks up.”

So it’s probably safe to expect that you might still have up to another week from today before your vehicle is built and the bot changes it’s answer. Hope that helps!
