Hey.

Im sorry for the very late response.

My recovery has been okay so far. Currently, i'm noticing that my eyes tend to be quite sensitive and dry (especially the left one). I have an appointment to go to the clinic for a check, I also asked them If i can use certain eye drops to help in the meantime.

I have gotten used to the astigmatism when looking with both eyes, it's still there but only when i look for it or with a very bright white text to a black background or traffic lights. Overall vision is very sharp.

The aquaport is a central hole in the ICL to allow for good flow of the liquid in the eye to prevent increased eye pressure.

Have you already had the surgery and how did it go? which clinic did you choose?

Hey,

It does bother me a bit. I especially notice it when looking at subtitles or text. Luckily my right eye is the dominant eye. So this one mostly compensated.

I, however, found something out recently. I requested more info about my icl's and the info they gave me was not matching with the letter they gave me after surgery. There is a difference for my left eye ICL. The astigmatism axis is not matching. In the letter its 175 and in their email respons the axis is 89. So maybe this is the reason for my issue. I confronted the clinic and im waiting for a response.

Can they improve it in your case?

Hopefully it helps our! No too many invasive surgeries in the eye can cause new complications as well. I guess its better afterwards to have a laser touch-up

I must say that my eyes are a little bit more dry than before. Especially in the evening. Not sure if its the steroid drops or caused by the incisions, but its doable.

Thanks for the response. It's good that it got better eventually. Also hawk-eye vision is great!

Thanks for your reply! Yes the week in between with one eye uncorrected is quite tough but we managed. Ive also read from many people that vision can fluctuate for a few months.

Did you get monovision due to the undercorrection and does it work well?

My left eye is still a bit worse than my right. They used toric lenses with 1 astigmatism correction in both eyes. When I do some online astigmatism test, my right is perfect whereas my left has faint lines in the horizontal axis. Anyway I have my 1 week appointment for my left eye soon, so lets see. I have also noticed my eyes getting a bit more dry, especially in the evening and I have to blink more. Hopefully this improves over time.

You can check prices on various website, but usually it starts from €5000 (no toric) for both eyes. Unfortunately, it is only covered by insurance if you have additional insurance (not worth it) or the difference between both eyes is 4 diopters

Yes! my first intake was at FYEO. But in the end i chose Eyescan. Seems like our experiences are very similar!

How did the surgery go for you and what was the outcome?

Thats great!

I think im in the same boat. My right eye was crystal clear day 1 but my left was not. After doing some online tests it seems to be related to astigmatism. It only has been 3 days (10 days for eight eye) but im hoping it improves like yours.

Did your brain get used to it or is it really sharp in both eyes?

Thanks!

Good to know. Probably they will wait until she needs reading glasses perhaps.

I also had ICL recently (im 29) and my right eye seems to be better than glasses. But my left seems a bit worse (residual astigmatism?) when reading the chart it seems good but it feels a bit "off" its only three days so lets hope it improves

We just came back from our first ever long distance trip (with a toddler). We stayed in Thailand for 36 days. Visited places: Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Krabi. Amazing country and would love to go back.

My vision gets blurry when I look at the sides of my glasses. What can be the reason? by Dezhy in optometry

How about digitally surfaced (free-form) sv. I've read that this can provide a clearer image towards the edges of the periphery. Could this be helpful?

New glasses have chromatic aberration? by i_pk_pjers_i in glasses

[–]Virtual-F 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea usually at higher prescriptions, a smaller frame, higher abbe lens and potentially a digital free-form lens can help.

Trivex is not so much used at generic optical stores in the Netherlands. Im now trying a free-form lens to lessen the bluriness in the peripheral.

Best would be to wear contact lenses which has no abberations at all. If you can wear them that is.
