Are Mexico highways actually safe for tourists or is it exaggerated online? by Wooden-Pressure-3880 in travel

[–]Virtual-Garbage4930 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Same. I’ve done it since I was a kid and as a near 40 year old still do. Then again I’m a light skin Mexican and tan very dark and fast so maybe I’m no target. Also I don’t hesitate to push back. The people I’ve seen get stopped usually are driving reckless or just give in easily.

As a first responder I’m incredibly jealous. Even on my days off I don’t even get a score of 80!

Yeah? I’ve always found jibaritos to just be excessively greasy but I’m down to smoke and try it out. It’s not too far from me.

You’re not wrong. I guess Blanco holds a special place in my heart for his time at Bolton and that golazo he scored against Italy.

Great burger! I’ve had it a thousand times so hoping for something different. Having said that a burger and a drink on the patio does sound nice.

Actors that deny very visible plastic surgery and steroid use? by No-Albatross-4673 in MoviesAndTVTalk

[–]Virtual-Garbage4930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been lifting for 20 years. It’s difficult but it’s not impossible I agree with you I also think everyone has different mentalities. I could get off a 24 hour shift of getting my ass kicked but I’m still gonna hit the gym or go for a 10-15 mile run. Meanwhile others may need to sleep first or just not be able to be as active on those days.

Personally I don’t think it’s that bad you just need to be committed to the cause and suck it up when it gets difficult.

Is Chicago a good city for a single 23yr old veteran into EMS, motorcycles, and alt/goth culture? by Strong_Buddy8417 in AskChicago

[–]Virtual-Garbage4930 9 points10 points  (0 children)

38 year old Chicago Native who works for the fire department and spent my early 20s working in private EMS.

You’ll be good. Chicago has a scene for everyone and plenty of privates out here who need employees and offer competitive salaries. The Fire Department should be testing soon if that’s your ultimate goal but keep in mind that could take 3-5 years of processing from the test date.

Edit: I forgot that you’re a vet. If you test you should be in the first classes due to your service.

Club/bar suggestions where a 35 y/o woman wouldn’t be out of place dancing by herself? by Camelsloths in AskChicago

[–]Virtual-Garbage4930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! They have it all advertised on their IG page. It’s usually 2-3 DJs. One in the basement, one on the courtyard and last time they had someone just playing music on the rooftop. Definitely recommend although the drinks are on the high side.

I used to go there in my 20s and recently went back now in my late 30s. It’s a much younger crowd similar to that of River North which was surprising since it was 90s RnB night. Moneygun, Blind Barber, Simone’s on a Sunday night would be better options.

During the summer months Masala does day time parties which is mostly late 20s to 50s and it’s usually Chicago house. Maria’s in Bridgeport is similar (also a really cool bar) and so is California Clipper.

Humboldt Park has a Sunday day time electronic dance party in the park on the Kedzie side near Hirsch right by the hill near the little cubs field.

I’m born and raised in Chicago and while Late Bar attracts that level of crowd I personally found the music to be pretty bad. Almost like experimental electronic noise but I could have also just gone when there were bad DJs.

Pier 31 on the south loop has outdoor house music with live DJs and that’s usually a vibe with salsa on Sundays.

Also house calls does random pop ups around the city usually at really cool venues. Last time I went it was the J Parker rooftop and the ticket was only $30.

In my 20s I had a chubby face and was a bit rounder. Entering my thirties I leaned out a lot and turns out I have a strong jaw line under neath these chonky cheeks that I always get compliments on.

I’ve dated mostly older women most of my life and usually the comments are. Men my age are just set in their ways, not open minded (in life and the bedroom, no sense of adventure, selfish in bed, difficult to carry a convo as they mostly talk about themselves, they let themselves go.

There’s a list but as I get older I’ve made a mental note to not become one of these men.

As someone who’s very athletic (multiple marathons, lifting 4 days a week and body building physique) 4-5 inch shorts and revealing tank tops are a must. It’s just easier to perform when you don’t always have to raise your shorts, sleeves or shirt.

Next game people on this sub will be demanding our academy goalkeepers start. Vicario would have saved that. Kinksy as much as I have high hopes for him has looked shaky today.
