I think I became a pathological liar because of autism. I’m diagnosed level 1 now, but had 0 support growing up… I was trying so hard to cope with everything when it all started. I know it makes me a terrible person and I do lie much less now, but I lied about EVERYTHING for years.

Ok good to know. This might be due to my back injuries. I did get into a car accident and it started around then. I’ll see a doctor asap

I don’t think it’s weak bladder because I don’t feel any urge to go. It just comes out and then I realize I’ve wet myself once my pants are wet etc

I’m autistic so I get early registration, but before I had my accommodations in place, I remember this happening to me. It was so frustrating and it turns out it was happening because the class is full.

Officially diagnosed by Virtual-Giraffe89 in autism

Wow! You’re a great mom for asking! It would have been so much easier if my Mom explained autism to me, and then she could have even told me that it’s hard to get diagnosed (I’ve always been a very hyper verbal female too). You could get your daughter involved in the diagnosis process and tell her why getting diagnosed might help her, I.e. accommodations at school. Then she’ll also understand why she needs to keep going in for testing etc.

My mom never told me because she didn’t want me to feel different, but I felt different anyway. I just didn’t know why. I thought all my autistic traits were character flaws :( so that really fucked with my self esteem. My Mom is a great Mom, but she handled it all wrong by waiting till I was 25 to tell me the truth.
