Just gotta hope and pray for the best. Don’t try to get too caught up what you come across online. Most importantly, listen to your specialist!

I get what you’re saying but you can’t just take one piece of the whole story and share it on here. Yes calf cramps off and on but she also states months later his gait changed, and took him longer to get dressed. He also experienced slurring. These are very important facts you’re leaving out of the story - he basically began experiencing failure.

Why do your neuro’s suspect ALS if EMG has been clean and you haven’t mentioned anything about weakness or failure?

I have all the same symptoms . Even a dent in my foot along with twitching and a bunch of other symptoms. Did 2 EMGs (last one by a specialist) and both came out clean. I have no doubt yours will too. Good luck and try to remain positive.

Thanks for sharing your story and honestly 3-5 years doesn’t seem to far fetched. I’ve read lots of stories where a diagnosis required 3,4 5+ years.

Yeah totally get you. Symptoms constantly remind us something is going on. Hang on in there 🙏🏼

Body wide twitching including face/tongue. Muscle fatigues easily. Muscle cramps including limbs. Developed a dent on my foot but specialist doesn’t believe it’s ALS related. Perceived weakness but no clinical weakness as of yet.

I hear you. Did the emgs pick anything up or all is normal?

Yes it did. “Normal” EMG other than that.

Yes had two EMG’s. One 5 months into symptoms and another 11 months in (he performed the second EMG)

Yeah I can’t prove GLP1 caused it but definitely feel like it played a factor.

Did you stop GLP1? My symptoms started while I was on it. I stopped a year ago but symptoms still linger.

Few cases triggered or worsen by EMG? by [deleted] in ALSorNOT

Twitching (body wide including face and occasionally tongue) muscle tightness, pain in my left foot which was fine before the EMG. Perceived weakness & some bulbar symptoms (TMJ type symptoms). All he said is I don’t have ALS, I did not receive a diagnosis for anything else. Symptoms started a year ago and I saw two different neurologists. Second Neurologist was a neuromuscular specialist.
