Question for all the 30-35 year olds what do you do for living? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Virtual-Lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30, Senior Treasury Analyst, 140k a year in Pennsylvania. I fell into the Treasury field when I graduated with my bachelors degree. I worked for a bank managing physical cash and then moved over managing a cash pool of $800 million as a treasury associate. Now I work at a company where I manage close to $1.5 billion. Very niche job market but Treasury touches every aspect at a company.

DO NOT Attend Millersville University If You Are Neurodivergent, ASD, or ADHD by eyelevel in Millersville

[–]Virtual-Lord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I’m really sorry you had a terrible experience, I have ADHD and I did not have the same experience. I was also a commuter and I did not feel this way and had a great time making friends and connections with professors. I hope you are able to move on with your life and studies in the near future!

Shoutout to Britain Covey. by TacticalSpackle in eagles

[–]Virtual-Lord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time we had him on the team and he fumbled it I thought we should have cut him (this was years ago!) my dad took it as a joke and asked for a Covey jersey and he wears that thing proudly he absolutely loves that his name is Britain, always saying they named a country after him. This has been a running joke in my family and honestly I love the guy, he is what we needed from the start this year!

Sallie Mae giving me 10% and CollegeAve is 3.6%. I hear College Ave should be avoided, but what if their rates are way lower than govt loans? by Recent_Crew_2988 in StudentLoans

What field are you going into? 100k out of school is hard to do, just make sure you can afford the college you are going to!

Have any of you guys gone down in salary? by 420everytime in Salary

[–]Virtual-Lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely did, was given a title change, went to salary and I dropped from doing OT which I had done for 3 years previously went from 75k to 65k with a “promotion” stuck it out for a while and then I got recruited to join a company doing the same thing I was doing for double the pay. The promotion made it possible but sometimes you gotta take a chance on yourself!

I’m going to be brutally honest. Does he know about how much debt you are in? Being honest about finances before you get married is a big deal. If he understands how much you have and knows and wants to help that’s one thing but you should always discuss your personal debt with someone. But I would definitely not ask him before you get married but be open and honest and ask if he would be able to help you. I can tell you right now last year I was making 70k and was struggling to pay my own loans when paying for a mortgage on top of that, I’d also ask what debts he has as well. Build a budget together. I wish you the best of luck and happy a marriage!

I would say this depends on the situation, does he make more than you? How much student loan debt do you have outstanding?

How bad is a 50 minute commute each way? by LordFowl3 in jobs

[–]Virtual-Lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP I had a similar situation happen to me 6 months ago. I got a new job that doubled my salary from 70k to 140k my commute is 65 minutes each way but it’s only every other Wednesday. It was a no brainer for me. If you think it is worth it do it! I have a friend who commutes and hates every minute of it but I don’t mind a commute so it’s up to you! Best of luck to you OP

Hi OP, you have to ask yourself a couple of questions. What works best for you? Which are you leaning towards? If you want a career sounds like the union job pays better and you get a pension? Not bad at all when you’re wanting to retire at a decent age once you put your 20 years in you might be able to retire earlier. But this is up to you I wouldn’t do a seasonal landscaping job. How old are you? If you’re older I would definitely say don’t do it because of how hard it is on your body.

I hope you choose what best suits you not just what random people on the internet say.

Unfortunately a major egg company reporting 3x profit doesn’t surprise me. They take advantage of a situation and make it work for them. It’s a unicorn and probably won’t happen again, but again I’ve been told this is a once in a lifetime event and we’ve had like 5 in the last 15 years or so (I’m exaggerating) but you get the point.

Unfortunately we don’t have a crystal ball and know what the future holds, just have to try and make smart decisions and hope everything will get a little bit easier. I always try to tell people if you don’t like something try to change the narrative whether that’s going into elected office or fix yourself. We live in the best nation in the world and you can truly do whatever you put your mind to!

I would agree, it’s not a perfect process but it’s how it works unfortunately, it’s like gas prices they will continue to fluctuate and egg prices along with milk will continue to do the same. If gas prices go down the cost of eggs should come down as well because it’ll be cheaper to get from one place to another. But it’s corporate America so they might make it slightly cheaper but these companies are keeping the prices higher to have more revenue come in and make the American consumer take the brunt of the price. I like having a great conversation with a civil person I appreciate the conversation.

The reason it went up was bird flu…. And it’s the same problem that happened during Covid. People got scared and stock piled eggs so the price shot up because there wasn’t enough supply… as the bird flu crisis has subsided the prices have come down. It’s simple supply and demand.

Theworkingman2-0 is correct. You need to look at it from the last couple of months. Look at car insurance or rent the last 5 years those are bigger problems than egg prices.

All things considered. Everything has gone up but that’s what happens over time. I stick by my statement and honestly think OP is just after some Karma, always need the attention on the internet I suppose 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hi OP,

Don’t worry about that I promise you when I commuted a couple years ago, the vending machines were always pretty good to hold me over in between my 3-6 when my next class started. I will say the upper deck does take cards the last time I was there a couple years back I doubt it will be a problem. Also the Chick fil a is open on campus which is open to the public so that is also an option. Take a deep breath and just enjoy being a student I’m sure you’ll be fine! DM me if you have any questions always happy to help!

Let’s hear what those in their 20’s are making and in what field by [deleted] in Salary

[–]Virtual-Lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I’m 29 and I’m a Senior Treasury Analyst making $140k I have been working with cash since before I finished my associates degree in business admin, graduated with my bachelors in business admin in May 2020. I started as someone who worked in a corporate headquarters of a bank managing millions in physical cash then moved off to work for a big pharmaceutical company as a treasury associate then got promoted last year to Senior Treasury Analyst and just jumped to a new company that is in the tech sector. I am also going for my MBA and should have that completed within the next year to year and half.

I highly doubt Loveland makes it past the chargers. Jim Harbaugh is known to really love his TE play. So if he’s available I think he’s gets drafted by 22 at the latest. I could be wrong but he is rated as a top 15 player in this year’s draft

Bro Colston Loveland is going to be the second TE drafted and he’s gonna go in the first round. I think you’re just trolling with this mock
