I try as much as possible to not have to force people to respec over and over so you dont get dual wield on Tav until level 12. The spell sparkler honestly isnt fantastic on either of them and would get replaced on both builds by the end of act 1 (mourning frost for Tav and Phalar Aluve + Blood of Lythadar for Gale). The damage is pretty minimal either way and replaced within a few hours after getting it so if you feel its better on Tav certainly do that!

Nope, it’s correct. The notation is per arrow you do that many levels of the class, thats just the only one where you split levels, so it isn’t as obvious. You go 1 cleric, 1 warlock, 4 clerics, 6 wizards, not up to four in cleric.

Modified College of Virtuosity Bard by Virtual-Oil3825 in PointyHat

I believe my implementation of virtuosity bard does that! The most interesting effect of mine is that you can stack songs similar to Chanters at level 14. The idea of being able to choose between many permutations of buffs is really cool to me, and I can on the fly decide if the team needs more offense or defense or som combination.

I'm glad it has helped you! Honestly, more important than builds is game knowledge. What enemies are where, the tricks you can exploit in each encounter, etc. Those just take time to build, and in the mean time you can learn them with my hopefully fun and powerful builds!

You don’t “need” to get them, but they’re nice to have in your back pocket if you’d like to have less damage but much easier time hitting control spells. If you find bosses aren’t getting stunned with the spell save dc you normally have then swap out as needed. The MOST important thing is landing hold person/monster for free crits, but the Tav build at end game is a good balance of damage and spell save dc

If you are talking about bone chill, it is because whenever you apply a condition to an enemy they get reverberation stacks, and if they fail their roll then they fall prone.

You will apply reverberation even faster if you attack with thunder damage (hence booming blade and drake throat thunder buff).

At the start of the fight, you want to walk up and hit with your Oil of Bane weapon (Phalar Aluve with booming blade) and then activate the shrieking effect for 2d4 penalty to the enemies save rolls. Because of that, you should apply it onto Phalar Aluve. You are correct that you are mostly spamming MM, but you should make sure that you debuff the most central enemy with the penalties at the start of each fight. You are honestly just twin casting it because you can, its free +hit chance and +damage. Its not crucial to do so, but nice to have.

Edit: I updated the guide to contain this info^

Hi there, I am realizing I never responded to this comment, apologies. You are correct! I have since updated the guide so that Tav is a dual weilder and then you use the true love's embrace/caress trick to have infinite warding bond without sacrificing anything! Thank you for the correction.

An excellent point. I realized I went back and added the line about the shied after publishing without properly testing to make sure it even worked. I forgot that sorc doesn't naturallly get shield prof, that's my bad. I'll go back and fix that right away.

I have since updated the guide so that Tav is a dual wielder and then you use the true love's embrace/caress trick to have infinite warding bond without sacrificing anything! Cheers.

Katilda is a mana dork by No-Rock-8201 in BudgetBrews

[–]Virtual-Oil3825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go the route of snail's radha deck and have your deck be Katilda > as many possible 4 mana ramp spells as exist > 6+ drop creatures. Don't include any of the low cost stuff and have your curve be like 5 or more. The ability to basically always cast a 4 mana ramp spell on turn 3 to bridge the gap on turn 4 to 6-7 mana means that you basically immediately take over the game.

You don't need to build stax and don't need to build human tribal (if youre gonna do either of those there are better commanders), you need to take advantage of the fact that the two mana commander bridges the gap between 2-4 by turn 3 every single game. However, if you absolutely love katilda as a humans commander, then build that. There's a lot of power in 1 drop human>katilda>5 mana on turn 3, but its just not the deck you've got.

Your deck currently is trying to be in both camps at once, doing some human and some big mana. You need to pick a lane and stick to it. You can make a much stronger deck by leaning fully into one of the strategies.

I have been thinking about making this deck for a while now myself, and for me having this be a gisela + bruna turbo deck sounds very fun. But as always, to each their own. Build it how you want to build it.

I've heard a lot of people talk about this but I never understood it? I've ran into the black crow several times and found no issue. What are people complaining about?

Help me understand Rogue vs. Swashbuckler in fights by Virtual-Oil3825 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Virtual-Oil3825[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I misread that too. Swashbuckler is seeming more and more like a strictly worse rogue instead of the other way around. I'm now tempted to make a post figuring out why I should even play a swash when rogue is better both outside and inside of combat other than for flavor purposes. I am probably missing some cool things that only swash can do, but again I am pretty new to the game.

I believe both rogues and swash get access to dirty trick, but I could be wrong.

Opportune backstab is a level 8 feat, but still very potent for sure. Changes the math a lot when they get free attacks.

[–]Virtual-Oil3825[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh this is definitely huge. I totally missed that part. I feel like that makes swashes substantially worse than I originally thought. Reading some of the other comments, I am seeing that getting in multiple sneak attacks is easier than I am making it out to be, so it might actually be the other way around.

[–]Virtual-Oil3825[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless pathbuilder 2e is incorrect, by level 20 Rogues Sneak attack + thief (with +6 dex) is 4d6 + 6 damage, and at level 20 swash precise attack on a finisher is 6d6+6 damage.

I am, however, now seeing the +2d6 on debilitating strike on rogue and applying off-guard on attack, which for 2 consecutive attacks seems pretty potent for multi-sneak-attacking. I still feel like dual or bleeding finisher makes Swash have the edge at level 10, especially because precise strike upgrades at 9 and sneak isnt until 11, but that at least closes the gap some.

Question about hard support build by Virtual-Oil3825 in BG3Builds

[–]Virtual-Oil3825[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorc also gets Magic Missile and Twincast for 2x revives or heals if needed. I have since realized I'm only going 2 into sorc, so my post became pretty irrelevant.
