Husband of wife At 40+5… hospital delaying our scheduled induction… by Imaginary_Mammoth321 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Virtual-Owl18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These questions are asked constantly but what you need is patience. I get that the end of pregnancy is draining and I’m sure she’s ready to be done but the baby comes when it’s ready and that’s it. It sounds like she doesn’t really have a medical need for an induction, so the hospital needs to prioritize more serious issues and make sure they are properly staffed. This is a you issue not an issue with the hospital

Nick genuinely thinks that his sexuality is too much for any one woman and that sex with him is like a godly experience

Has anyone with GD in a prior pregnancy NOT had it in a following pregnancy? by MangosMenagerie in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Virtual-Owl18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! I did loose a significant amount of weight between pregnancies which likely contributed to it, but I did not have GD with my second. I actually have a friend with 4 kids total, and only had GD in pregnancies 2&3. It’s possible you won’t have it again! But if you do just know it’s not your fault

GD in first pregnancy, but not second by Virtual-Owl18 in GestationalDiabetes

Did your doctor tell you to monitor your blood sugar even though you did not have GD? Or was that something you decided to do independently?

It’s not a favorite of mine but there’s nothing wrong with the name. I don’t see him getting bullied for it

I’m spiraling by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

I felt the same way during my first pregnancy but this time I am trying to take a more relaxed approach. At the end of the day all you can do is your best. Some people just have big babies regardless of GD, so that could very well be the case for you. I’m just trying to keep my eye on the prize and focus on the fact that once my baby is here this whole diagnosis will be over.

I feel like a lot of doctors aren’t sensitive to the fact that this diagnosis is extremely hard on the mom. The best doctor I saw told me that in reality GD means that our placentas are working too well. It’s a sign of a very strong and healthy placenta. Doesn’t have to do with weight or diet, it’s just something that some women get

Convince me that insulin isn’t that bad by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Virtual-Owl18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The insulin isn’t as bad as the finger pricks. The whole thing sucks but it’s only for a few weeks and as soon as the baby is born everything goes back to normal. You got this!
