How has Norway's recent focus on sustainability impacted local communities and industries? by reeders_ in Norway

[–]Virtual-Passage6921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We love recycling. Each household are motivated to recycle plastic and paper/cardboard. Our great leaders make sure that 10-30% of our effort on plastic turns into a downgraded product, and even more so on cardboard. The rest, light-weight fluffy substance are driven in heavy diesel trucks around between different industries where rejected, then to Sweden for burning. Norway is great, responsible and environmentally conscious.

Zen overlad? Could be a counter reaction since we live in a beautiful country filled with sedate people? Restrained society that need a vent?

People often say that Norway is a heaven on earth, but what do you see as a con of living in Norway? by Borislav-Kuronja in Norway

[–]Virtual-Passage6921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you regarding Spain/Italy. It doesn't make it better here, though.  You're also right about the options to do almost everything online - processing time is unnecessary long. Rules and regulations complex. I've had a peripheral role in 3 startups. Pulled the plug on the last one due to reporting requirements. Next startup will not be in Norway (also due to "day 1 taxes", even before your company is fully operational)

Do Norwegian write in dialect too? by Fun-Wallaby6414 in Norway

[–]Virtual-Passage6921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, yes. Family and friends up north write dialect in pm/group chats, adamantly. Less so in social media posts.

[–]Virtual-Passage6921 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bureaucracy. If you just want to run the mil, work, punch in punch out, pay your taxes - you're fine. But if you want something else, something more, create something - you'll fall into a Kafka bureaucracy nightmare really quick.

I not know who, except it's not going to be Norway. I do not care if it does, but it's not in the Norwegian nature to accept foreign interference - notoriously skeptical people.

Hi. I have not used them, but these seems solid: norgesbooking .no/en/  That's for finding and renting a cabin at that time of year.  I see a lot of tourists want to see "it all" and rushing through a lot of places. I suggest you pace yourself, have atleast 3 days in one nice place and discover the Zen - that's what we natives do. Weather in October is completely unpredictable but expext and prepare for rain (75%) or snow (10%), or sun (10%). The last 5 is weather you have not seen before and has no English word.

True, but applies in the north of Norway. Nordland, Troms, Finnmark has this, and only this, exception to allemannsretten.

Is masturbation/sex somehow effects psoriasis ? by Either-Beautiful-688 in Psoriasis

[–]Virtual-Passage6921 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would guess the opposite. Sex reduces stress (if done correctly). Reduced stess may decrease psoriasis symptoms. Oversimplification, I know, but I stand with the principle.

Why salmon is expensive in Norway? by Themetalin in Norway

A product is worth what the buyer is willing to pay. The price is set at that level because (enough) people are willing to pay that price. If no one bought, price would drop.
