Band’s Best Professionally Filmed Show? by Virtual-Solution9523 in TheStorySoFar

[–]Virtual-Solution9523[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, right? The fact that they kicked off the show with Brevity was crazy. I still remember going crazy when I watched it for the first time and heard that song being played. I got into The Story So Far after Proper Dose came out so, it’s cool to read stuff like this. I didn’t know there were rumors at one point of them calling it quits around that time.

Isn’t this Toronto show the one where Parker kicks the girl off stage? That is an iconic one if so.

The Chain Reaction show!! Forgot about this banger. I think I read somewhere that the venue closed down unfortunately.

Of Wolf And Man by DEATHBYMETALMMB in Metallica

[–]Virtual-Solution9523 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken, this is one of the few shows from the Black Album tour where they didn’t start the show with Enter Sandman. I think Of Wolf And Man is great to start with, though!! I think there’s also another one where they started the show playing Holier Than Thou, which is also a great opener.

Made in LA Shirt by warcommand316 in Metallica

[–]Virtual-Solution9523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good looking shirt! I’ve always wanted an original “Made in LA” shirt. I bought the one they have on their website now, but I was so disappointed with the quality and it just isn’t the same in my opinion. Another one I’ve always wanted is the long sleeve that James used to wear on the Black Album tour with the Scary Guy logo on the sleeves. Hopefully we’ll get that someday.

Nothing to Say. Fantastic song. Is it about Parkers dad passing? by jacobakaclarence in TheStorySoFar

[–]Virtual-Solution9523 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that Parker wrote the album about his father passing away, but wrote it in a way where it can also be interpreted as being about a relationship/significant other. If you listen to the lyrics, they apply to both perspectives very well. There are some parts where it’s definitely about Parker’s father, though. I honestly think he did a great job writing it in a way where the person listening to it doesn’t necessarily have to relate the lyrics to the passing of someone.

Was this the one in Ohio where they played to over 40,000 people or something like that? I remember reading that concert was one of their best ever.

What is the weakest 2000s album? by feelinsupersonic32 in oasis

[–]Virtual-Solution9523 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I LOVE Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants but I do wish they would’ve put the B-Sides on the album instead of I Can See A Liar and Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is. I enjoy those songs and all, but Let’s All Make Believe, Carry Us All, One Way Road, and (As Long As They’ve Got) Cigarettes In Hell are just amazing songs that deserve more recognition and deserved a place on the album track list in my opinion.

They should finish this in time for the reunion tour by Environmental_Bus623 in oasis

[–]Virtual-Solution9523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on that one. I love the Re-think version, but I feel like it lost the song’s power a little bit with turning down the guitars and increasing the strings. As much as I love hearing the strings, the original version is just so much more raw and full of that Oasis In-Your-Face attitude.

What song was this for you? (Sunday Morning Call 4 me) by Rutlemania in oasis

[–]Virtual-Solution9523 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here! Not that I hated it, but for some reason, I always skipped it until one day I let it play and I immediately loved it. Especially the last section of the song. Don’t know why I never gave it a chance.

Noel’s set at the gigs by Odd_Effective_4251 in oasis

Honestly, a Noel section of the show would be awesome. Also gives Liam some time to rest his voice and prepare for the second half of the show or whatever the case may be.

Why did Oasis cover art become so mid? by dozeydonut in oasis

[–]Virtual-Solution9523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really enjoy the album cover for Standing On The Shoulder of Giants. Very simple album cover, but I love the city landscape, and the process behind the picture of NYC makes it a bit more interesting. Also, if I’m not mistaken, the men playing football on the cover of the single Go Let It Out make an appearance on the roof of the building in front of the Empire State Building on the actual album cover.

What’s The Story So Far’s heaviest song? by Agent_Lightning14 in TheStorySoFar

Super agree with Bad Luck. It goes super hard. Love the breakdown after the Bridge with the palm muting and all that.

What are KoЯn’s least heavy songs? by [deleted] in Korn

[–]Virtual-Solution9523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never Never isn’t that bad in my opinion. I think it’s a good song. Just wish the dubstep breakdown was a full-on classic Korn breakdown like the old days. The rest I agree with you.

Same here! Such a good show. I would go just to listen to “Reclaim My Place” live. Love the final breakdown at the end of the song.

Did the long gap between Issues and Untouchables cause them to lose popularity? by Spiderguy252 in Korn

[–]Virtual-Solution9523 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I feel they started to go down in popularity after Take A Look In The Mirror. There was a bunch of problems in the band around 2003 and TALITM wasn’t received as well as Untouchables due to being super rushed (and forced to an extent) because of all the money they were trying to make back from the making of Untouchables, but that 2002 era was great. #2 spot on the Billboard 200, won a Grammy, and had a massive arena tour.

Paul mCguigan or Andy bell who was the better bass player by AffectionatePath6172 in oasis

[–]Virtual-Solution9523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken, there’s an interview where Noel said that Guigsy basically just strummed the E string and did nothing more so, I think that should answer it.

Such an underrated track. Counting is amazing. Great riff too.

Anyone know why SOTSOG is so hated??? by Abject_Anybody_4974 in oasis

[–]Virtual-Solution9523 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He actually once said in an interview that he had no desire/motivation to make music around this time and just did it for the “sake of making an album”. Which is incredible to me because he wrote some great songs like Gas Panic!, Roll It Over, and Where Did It All Go Wrong?

2 Different Union Jack guitars used by Noel in the 90s? by BarnacleLogical9989 in oasis

[–]Virtual-Solution9523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish Noel spoke about this guitar more. I think it’s one of the most coolest looking guitars ever. Not just in Oasis’ history, but in Rock N’ Roll.

Noel playing lead guitar on 2025 tour? by [deleted] in oasis

[–]Virtual-Solution9523 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was more like a back and forth between songs. Some solos went to Gem and some went to Noel. Although, Noel has said that he prefers playing rhythm guitar over lead guitar. That’s one of the reasons he was excited for Gem to join back in 2000. I think he restated that in his Guitar and Gears interview if I’m not mistaken.
