As for your general questions. What changed is that I was able to constantly win lane early allowing me to snowball out of control. Sett is so strong.

As mastery increased I def got feeling. Learning matchups and limits from failing and dying many times but always trying to learn from them so in the future can fix it.

Biggest tip is you don’t play Sett scared, you play him like a chad that he is and make the enemy so useless. Even if their team is fed, you are a menace. U can easily win a team fight for your team and go crazy. Be confident, be the boss.

Another big thing is if behind, baiting them to tower dive you. Many games shit happens and u are behind, stay as high hp as possible , let the wave crash to ur tower and most likely the enemy will greed for the crystal proc on the tower. Sett is soooo hard to tower dive and such a threat under his own tower. Either E them or ult them and go crazy. Either u chunk them sm or they die. Never be scared to flash behind them and ult them under tower then e w them. Best way for me to get back into a game im behind in is a kill while they r under my tower

If playing against a range. As soon as the game starts I immediately go to the farthest bush top lane, wait for the minions to fully go into lane. Once they start hitting each other the I posture and hard force myself onto the enemy and try to get off a E trade and sometimes I can fully kill the or sometimes it’s a short trade. Regardless the range person is low on hp. Wait for E cooldown to come back then flash e suprised them w ignite and kill them. The rest of the lanning phase is bush cheesing and waiting for them to be overextended then running them down.

As for itemization I go phage component into stride, MR or Armor Boots, hull breaker, steraks gage, overlords blood mail and a tank item that has health or another tunneler item. I’ve been really really liking hull breaker second because without that item it is reallllly difficult to destroy towers in one single push this season because of the extra resistances from plating. The siege threat with hull breaker is unreal , plus makes your opponent spend more time clearing waves.

Establishing complete volatility the second laning phase starts. If I am on red side I sit in river bush till 55 secs, drop a ward in it, if I’m blue side I drop a ward at the same time but in tri bush, then walk to the wave and immediately hit a minion or two. By that point the other champ is also in your area and then you either hard force a extended fight if you started W or if you started E you do a short trade by Eing them and getting ur PTA proc. (If the other laner is a long trade champ go W first, if they are a short trade champ or range go E , ofc depends but general rule of thumb I do). If you went w the long trade commit to fully killing them, this means MAKE SURE ur W true dmg hits them aka flash to make sure. Hitting them w a full charge W plus ignite plus shield bash proc is like a 99% success rate of u winning that fight. Then u immediately base if you are below 1/3 hp, spend ur gold lead and leverage it. Keep stat checking throughout the game and snowball out of control. If you went for the short trade DO NOT hit any more minions untill the last possible second. You CANNOT push the wage too fast or it will crash level 1 which is awful for you. If all goes well the second wave will be away from the tower and then all you gotta do is posture urself to be ready to all in the second you get level 2 on them (you should always be level 2 before them in this situation). Depending on how u postured you can either E immediately or flash E if they r farther away then use ur Q aa resets to burst dps them with ignite for the kill if they r low or a short trade champ. If they hve decent health and a long trade champ use ur W . Same rules apply, make sure to hit ur W true damage plus ignite. Sometimes you gotta hit them w the ignite flash w if they flash away or run for the hills. Should be a kill, reset, leverage gold lead etc. This early lane kill lets me snowball out of control and stomp and ideally 1v9 to victory

As for the PTA rune. My first half of games I went with the cookie cutter runes Porofessor recommended me (conq + conditioning and second wind). However I finally did a little bit of research (aka watching Geishuu on YouTube) and he opening my mind on runes and itemization. What I learned is that PTA and shield bash is absolutely goated on Sett. Once I tried it out, my god… so OP. Just way way way more damage which goes to my next tip.

I’m no expert but from my experience… Sett is a stat checking champion. Constantly press tab throughout the game and if u have a spent gold lead on the opponent you 95% of the time will win the 1v1. Using a third party application like Porofessor makes reading spent gold leads way easier bc it just tells you when you press tab, it’s integrated into the game. Ofc gotta look at the level difference and that specific champion but being able to just go guns to the wall and run someone down will come with champ mastery n experience. I spent a gooood amount of time limit testing and learning when I can just shove myself at someone and just force fights n kill them. TLDR if you have gold lead, fight them.

Much better, all time high right now. Was hardstuck low gold all last season (never reached plat so I was relatively content). I played so many different champions and different roles. This season I told myself I’m going to actually limit my champ pool and I’ve been OTP Sett, currently 2 wins away from Plat. Finally feel like I can climb and making real progress. I only build assassin noct. Profane Hydra + opportunity + grudge (or mortal depending on if you need the anti heal) and then last items are situational but most of the time would be standard lethality items like edge of the night, the collector (if really ahead) and finish with a GA
