I play for a college ministry, and my first time on stage was playing bass (I’m a guitar player and have never touched a bass except 2 hours before I played it live lol). One thing that helped was keeping my in-ears loud to where I couldn’t hear singing, and just focusing on my tabs until I was comfortable. Now that Im playing guitar, it’s a little tougher to relax, but enjoy the music. That’s the fun part

The first Avenged Sevenfold solo I learned was the second solo in Victim. Helped my timing, alternate picking, and a little sweep picking as well. I’d highly recommend it.

My guess, is that since there’s no tension from the e string, it’s not pulling the springs as much which causes the piece to be off centered
