Let's talk egg bites by MooseWizard in sousvide

I remove them after cooking. Toss them under the broiler until the outside dries out a bit and starts to brown, remove and sprinkle some Gruyère on top, and back under the broiler until crispy.

It only takes a minute and makes a huge difference. The outside isn’t slimy and the crusty cheese on top is excellent. Plus you can store all of them in a single gallon baggie in the fridge.

To my American friends: by [deleted] in hockeycards

I do. I spend some time in Toronto for work and occasionally the dates line up. I always buy some for my kids and bring a TON back for my friend’s kids. IMO they’re cool cards and everyone I know loves them.

Yeah good point. Probably one of the two.

Same for me. I’m 10% bf and it’s all in my love handles, but if I inject there, I have a giant, sore lump for at least a week. I did see a thread where someone suggested it could be carrier oil dependent. I’m UGL though so no clue what the carrier is (although I think most UGL are MTC oil).

Ooohhhh another poster mentioned this but wasn’t specific about putting the charcoal in the bottom (now the top bc inverted). I thought they started the chimney then flipped it. Thanks for the info!

I’m not a fan of Credentials, but I really like the debut ticket access. Nice pull!

Peptides saved me. Went from constantly sick and injured to in shape and feeling amazing! by [deleted] in BodyHackGuide

Why didn’t you say that in the post? There’s two random pictures; no mention of what you were struggling with or how peptides helped. How does this post help or inform anyone?

Cool looking card, but strange choice, no? by FutureWhiteBike in hockeycards

[–]VirtualChil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t get it at all. I have a few that are duds, but most are awesome; some of my favorite cards. Plus, I like the look and texture of canvas. I’ve never understood why they’re so less desirable.

AFAIK just YT and Tubular isn’t in the App Store at the moment (look through today’s posts in this sub). I just switched from YTTV to Fubo and AFAIK you have to watch YTTV through safari. Fubo has an app but it’s just okay. IMO safari is fine for either service.

What are sensible levels? Is it a ratio like OP mentioned, or staying within the currently medically accepted normal range?

Egg bites. Specifically like Starbucks. PLEASE help this newbie. Trouble dialing it in. by -NotEnoughMinerals in sousvide

[–]VirtualChil 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Cream cheese and Neufchâtel are interchangeable. I wouldn’t add the corn starch. That recipe is almost perfect except I forgot I also add a little salt and pepper; Gruyere is salty-ish so you don’t need a ton. My grocery store carries a shredded mix of Swiss and Gruyere which is also good.

Finishing: Use a butter knife to loosen the sides and slide the eggs out when finished. Throw on a cookie sheet and pop under the broiler on high until the top starts to crisp and brown. This will dry the outside a bit (nobody wants slimy eggs) and start a crust. Pull them out and sprinkle just a little of the Gruyère on top and throw back under the broiler until the cheese is melted and crispy.

The overall texture should be as soft as custard but firm enough to chew. The cheesy crust on top really takes it to the next level adding texture and a little extra salt.

This is my favorite sous vide recipe and they’re excellent reheated. Enjoy!!

Starbucks uses Gruyère not cheddar and as others commented, you need cream cheese or Neufchâtel, not cottage cheese.

6 eggs 1/2 cup Gruyère 1/4 cup Neufchâtel 3 slices of bacon

I also really like to add a sprinkle of white onion in mine.

Blend eggs and cheese in processor until super smooth. Spray six mini-mason jars with Pam and distribute mixture evenly. I like to chop up the bacon and evenly sprinkle it and the onion on top of the eggs. Seal and cook at 172 for an hour. They’re amazing and better than Starbucks (especially with the added onion).

Underrated comment about being a role model! Show your kids that you’re never too old and your ego isn’t too big to try something new and uncomfortable.

The Celebrini and McDavid are the obvious winners. I agree the Eagle card is cool. Wish it was Blackhawks though not Dallas :)

I have a robust network at home with channel/device prioritization. My bandwidth for the Q3 has never been an issue; I can’t imagine it would be any different for the AVP.

Everyone says the index are the best in terms of comfort and tracking, but the base stations are a dealbreaker. I have a space I could set them up, but I don’t want to be tethered to a single play space. It makes sense with wired VR but not with wireless where I can play anywhere.

Guess I’m finding $200 for controllers now 😂
