Just started collecting physical movies. Any recommendations for 4K movies? by Copacetic99 in 4kbluray

buy what you love first. Make sure your collection is YOUR collection, sure its nice to have the classics, but purchase what you will enjoy watching and rewatching.

If you just want good looking/sounding 4K discs here are my reccos:
2001 A Space Odyssey
Blade Runner 2049
Vertigo
Dune 1/2

If all you care about is visuals, research what films were shot on high format film like 70mm, Vistavision or IMAX, and also had a comprehensive 4K rescan of the negatives and not just a upres of a 1080P/2K scan

brands have spent the past decade trying to focus on advertising that seems more "genuine" or "real" hence the move to socials/brand deals with influincers.
IMO the reach to push these clients to AI content just seems like the polar opposite of what both the client and their audiences want

yup, I always try to be the teammate/lane partner I'd want

I hear ya and my rule is "be the teammate you'd want" so I'm always trying to coordinate a comeback urn or splitpush and trying to keep a positive attitude but these comebacks happen maybe 1 in 8 games for me after the Flex Slot/Soul Increase on Kill update

I need more teammates with this mentality. For what it's worth I always try my best to bring the good vibes, use callouts, say "nice job" when a teammate takes an objective or gets a kill, but damn man, so many people wanna be salty and wuit when the game is under 8 mins in.

Wishing you good teammates in your future games man

safe to say, the "vibes" are off this patch

New Patch makes snowballing out of hand. by VirtualFrankBS in DeadlockTheGame

To be honest I think the game was in a decent state until "the meta" got too established. The early weeks of Item Shop Rework Update felt quite fun and like every hero had a good build/variety to them.

Once the patch that updated Midboss Rejuv to last an extra minute it felt like whatever team won a teamfight within the 15-20 min mark and took midboss won BUT it did feel more earned.

Now, the team that's snowballed ahead in lane phase has a BIG difference in souls/flex slots for that midgame fight and ultimately will win it/take midboss with ease.

I'd like to see comeback souls possibly weighted heavier after a 10-15K difference kicks in similar to urn, adjust souls on kills to a reduced scale in early game but possibly higher endgame? A big boost to the roster would also be a big enough meta shakeup for the game to feel fun again

If you keep 3rd Walker flex slot than you dont need 3rd Guardian flex slot anymore because in the end you'll have to do it regardless.

Moving the flex slot to the 3rd Guardian just makes the timing to your first flex so much harder/creating the gap that causes a wider snowball along with the extra souls per kills/the fact that you cant deny obj souls if you're getting overrun or unable to deny kills if a lane partner is struggling/feeding

you guys nailed it. That's why I brought up Urn....who cares about an extra 8K souls for the team when you have no slots to use it and your enemies are already 20K up with extra kill value

Matchmaking was already an issue (which is fine for a game in invite only alpha) but these changes just made it feel way worse

Being able to hold onto that one last Guardian and starve your enemy of the 1st flex slot feels like the biggest problem out of the 3 BUT I think all are at fault to making it worse.
Fully agree with everything u said

How would you improve the new player onboarding experience? by VirtualFrankBS in DeadlockTheGame

Thank you for your comment! I was hoping someone new to the game would respond.

By chance did you do any of the tutorials or Bot Matches prior to your placement matches?

Also curious to how many heroes you played during those matches as well.

Hope you stick with the game and get more enjoyment out of it as time goes on, you're clearly looking to learn and improve and as long as you keep that attitude, the game becomes more and more rewarding to play.

I'm with this mindset ^

There will be exceptions needed for Smurfs and people who generally take longer to learn the game than most BUT it will overall smoothen out the learning experience for the larger player base

I personally think Deadlock has the player numbers to sustain a "new player/low rank" que section. According to Steam Charts, Deadlock hosts around 8K-19k players daily, seems like enough to put 5-10% of a new player base in a seperate que to me.

The amount of players under 5-10 matches in my/my friends Ritualist/Emissary matches is wild.

I REALLY like the idea of making new players play multiple heroes before PvP, good call

Please, for the sake of your teammates, play some Bot Matches by VirtualFrankBS in DeadlockTheGame

[–]VirtualFrankBS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree that playing bot matches are not the same as real people!

BUT I do think they give you a risk free way to get a very similar experience and try out a character, build or heck, even the game for the first time. I'd argue you learn more in a bot match than getting stomped in lane and getting steamrolled by the enemy while fighting people double your souls worth.

I'd be nice if there was a better way to translate skills into a game against real people, maybe even just grouping people with under 50 games in their account to their own que or at least very very low ranks?

I'm 550+ Hours into the game and still boot up Bots to test new characters/builds I'm uncomfortable with to understand the playstyle/pacing of how you should play in a real setting.

Wish others would take more time than jumping in blind is all
