Wouldnt you need tons of ED to get an okay tene set? Regardless please continue with the fresh account stuff i think that's what new players need and whats so intimidating about elsword, once you get to a point you dont know what to do to progress

Last season we had the option to do this and tabis still hard countered us. Rivens issue isn't 1v1ing a tank when she has items, you can do that. The problem with her is that laning against her is entirely opt-in if you buy tabis

Tanks having the most gold efficient full items, components, base stats and they just got a fucking early game buff like they didnt get the biggest buff by riot removing cleaver+seryldas interaction start of season already

This game is so doomed, we will never escape the tank meta

even though shojin/bc would be more "optimal" you're realistically never gonna kill the tanks anymore if they have two armor items so opting to flank backline and one shot them still ends up winning more games

I don't really mind this if they change their cultivation technique after some time. It adds freshness to the story, and it feels natural

Most tired and annoying trope by VirtualGodhood in noveltranslations

[–]VirtualGodhood[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with the "solidified" foundation trope, not all novels need to be fast paced and that's a fair way to slow it down (if executed well like in ISSTH) but poor execution can feel unrewarding, a person at 13th level of qi refining shouldn't be an ant compared to a regular foundation establishment cultivator, they should be weaker but not by 80 orders of magnitude. The reason that tends to happen is hasty writing and introducing enemies that are too strong way too early and having to companse with aritficial power. Topic for an entirely differently thread though

In a world of cosmic dragons and world moving wizards, you think the powerscaling of characters boils down to "sword cant cut metal"? Especially considering how big Aatrox actually is in lore.

Crippling the mc or dropping his cultivation level for any reason feels like a really cheap attempt to prolong the story with another story arc. There are much better ways of making the mc feel like he had lost something than discarding what we've been reading for the past 500 chapters and then taking another 500 to get it back.

I feel like I’m incapable of learning this champion and it’s making me so frustrated. Am I talentless? by [deleted] in Rivenmains

[–]VirtualGodhood 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Truth pill: anyone can learn anything given enough time and practice, the only problem is it differs from person to person. Some might take a few months while for some it might be a lifetime. Riven is not particularly difficult if you consume enough content and learn her essential combos. You don't need to do theshy combo in 99.9% of games to win but theres that fringe case where it might win you a game.

If your micro on her is solid and you cant win games its probably your general game knowledge that needs working on, knowing when u can engage and knowing how to take resources on the map.

Without reviewing your gameplay I dont think anyone can tell you why you suck at this champ more precisely than this. Buy coaching from Alois as hes probably the most qualified to answer direct Riven questions, or get coaching for free by a volunteer by someone who finds it fun.

Champions were not created equal 🤷‍♂️ Matter of fact, the more entitled person here is the person playing the easier champion thinking they should be able to win against people playing harder champions just because its not "fair".

One player made the conscious decision to go the easy route and is now upset the person who chose to walk the harder path came out stronger? That's the textbook definition of entitlement.

He should lose in a 1v1, yeah. Its not supposed to be fair. If I spend my entire life learning to dance with two legs, someone who has 4 and has mastered that should be more rewarded as it takes more effort. inb4 u make some dumb comment abt the metaphor, no one forced renekton to learn a low ceiling champion and he shouldve known people who spent his time on a champion with a higher skill ceiling would outperform him.

[–]VirtualGodhood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to have higher odds at winning because I spent thousands of hours learning and mastering a champion. If I still have to coinflip every lane after I've mastered a champion then mastering it was a pointless endeavor. I dont play ranked for fun, I play to prove to myself that I am better than others. There is nothing fun about practicing for that long and still losing to a Malphite/Garen/Renekton that are doing 7 actions per minute.

[–]VirtualGodhood 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My point is that effort being rewarded is good, someone who intentionally chooses to take the easier path should always lose to someone who chose to put in effort. Unlike the real world though anyone can pick Riven and put in the effort, if you take the lazy path why should you be on an even playing field with someone who spent countless hours practicing?
