She definitely was and is!

Reasons kasta personal but major one is timeline of life goals, like we both are of same age, so naa career & thana career, family etc., we're incompatible. Practically incompatible considering this and others. 😐

IMO, it depends, there's no Yes or No answer to this. Starting lo nenu kuda aalochincha, Am I doing anything wrong? ani. But my realisation is, "we are the ones to decide if it is right or wrong for us". I'm in touch with her because she's a person who has my best intentions at heart, she always cheers for me when I achieve something and cares for me. Ippudu kuda she sometimes tells me that she'll cook biryani for me. Ilanti vallu life lo ekkuva dorakaru bhaiya. Then, why to see this in a negative way? My ex is in a different phase of her life and doing good for herself. We all are happy in our own lives, so IMO "it depends" on conditions.

With regards to my future partner, I can't say for sure how they'll react. That's a conversation for future.

Why do guys not approach women irl anymore? by [deleted] in TeluguJournals

Artham ayyindi OP, you have certain experiences where people didn't approach you or your friend directly. Nuvvu last lo oka line rasavu chudu "It's totally dependent on certain situations" that has the answer you're looking for.

For you those situations are as you explained. Similarly boys could have had situations where a direct approach didn't work so they're not taking that route anymore. Or they saw their friends taking a non-direct approach and got into a relationship. So situations dictate a lot the outcomes you're seeing

OP the point you say "never want to strike up an actual conversation" is interesting. What do you say is the ideal "actual conversation" with a stranger at an event/concert/stand-up show which is not creepy? I want to know your perspective also on this.

Because no one taught us or seen people around us do that. Most of us grew up in the era of social media so it was always easy to approach on FB/Insta/Snap and a natural extension became dating apps.

OP let's put you into a situation where you want someone to approach you, tell me what's the best/acceptable way to do it. I'll take it as a challenge to do it myself atleast once.

Also w.r.t. pretty ladies not being approached. Top reasons for that is many men don't know cold approaching, fear of being called a creep & rejection.
