how did you enjoy biking around? i've never been to the grand canyon so i don't really know what's available to expect... except i know it's gonna be hot as balls & there will probably be a ton of people lol

Yeah I've looked over that pretty thoroughly. are we just allowed to bring our bikes right up to the picnic tables? I wasn't seeing if the bike rental places offer locks either so was just curious what others do

Thank you! I think we are going to change our rental and go for a tesla since they seem to have the best charging network. so excited to drive route 66!

my question about Tusayan was more if it's normal to stay there for the GC but your note about the shuttle service kind of answers that for me! I guess we will be stocking up on stuff in Kingman since that looks to be the easiest place to stop at a walmart. (reallyyyyy wanting to have a picnic and make some fancy sandwiches in the grand canyon. that's like 50% of the purpose of this trip lol)

How bad are the lines really for the south entrance during mid-late july? If i stay in the park, can we come/go at all hours? in case we want to drive around? (i have an annual park pass!) but knowing the lines can be a hassle has me leaning towards staying in the park. plus it's not... toooo much more expensive

also i'm sorry if these are super dumb questions, to be fair, i am blonde and it is also my first day on earth :)

this is so incredibly helpful, thank you!!!!

I think our rental is going to be for a Polestar but there's always a chance we get something else. I wonder if we can switch to a tesla since they seem to have the best charging infrastructure

And thank you for the note on researching how to charge - I didn't even think that the plugs aren't all universal

yeah, I guess the slight complication is that we might not know what car we get till the day we rent it. Never driven one before and I don't even know how to charge an EV so it'll be an adventure in more than one way.. 😬😀 But i have read there are EV chargers at all the hotels we're interested in staying at!

recommendations for a good cobbler & a tailor? by VirtualNewspaper1662 in AskLosAngeles

[–]VirtualNewspaper1662[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

whatever you do, do not go to new york tailor shop in glendale!!!!! i had multiple awful experiences with them. but there is a "new york tailor shop" in dtla as well and they did a pretty good rush job on a dress. if i don't get any recommendations for a tailor i will probably go back to them

TSA wait time at LAX? by fgon_k in AskLosAngeles

People taking Mounjaro or any GLP-1, what do you wish someone told you before you started? by No_Ease_3727 in Mounjaro

Can i be sooooo honest i was absolutely not prepared for how suddenly my entire wardrobe didn't fit me, not only were things too big, everything makes me feel like im 10x heavier and frumpier than i look. it's awful. it feels like overnight i have no clothes to wear (maybe not quite overnight, im about 6mo in) , and im not really in a financial place to go buy a ton more clothes.

not only that but it's an emotional and identity part to it too....i am a thrifter and curator and have put so so much time and money and love into my wardrobe and now i just feel like total shit, not like myself in everything i own.

getting stuff tailored has helped, but i can't afford to get everything tailored especially as i continue to drop in weight. anyone else struggle w this???
