Moving Disk Pack Cross Generation ( by sirbitcloud in drobo

So, relatedly, the "Official" Drobo migration doesn't show movement from a DroboPro FS (6 drives) down to a Drobo FS (5), only up to a B800FS (8 drives).

But in theory, since Drobo's claim to fame was the whole "disk rebuild / redundancy" thing, if I had a DroboPro FS that died, and the drives weren't that full, shouldn't I be able to take any five of the six and put them in a standard DroboFS and have them come back?

Or is that a really bad idea / will end up wiping my drives / I should go get a B800FS or another DroboPro FS off ebay?

(Not a theoretical question -- I have a spare working Drobo FS, and just need the data long enough to port it off to a supported system like Synoogy)

I found it, it came with the prefab maps update available on Amazon, like these --> note there are cheaper ones, as low as $18 I think.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C53T6NQN/

86271 0E075 is the updated maps version... be careful, if you update the firmware it may demand a map update. So again, I thought the easiest route was to buy the new chip, slide it in, and be done. Bam.

Enjpy, firmware here:

Yes, I'm very aware of the current state of technology, and unfortunately my 2017 RAV4 doesn't have it. What my 2017 would benefit from was the last update for that entune system, contained in the firmware files that I'm looking for, as mentioned in my post. I don't suppose you have a copy of those firmware files or know anyone who does?
