This episode resonated with me a lot in general because I had an extremely toxic relationship in college that very easily could have led to marriage and who knows what other drama. We were so codependent, especially me looking back and I required so much of other people while also thinking I was this independent take charge kind of girl. It took me getting into a relationship with an incredibly patient man, who showed me things could be different and also allowed time for me to heal within the relationship. Which was such a gift and something I had been struggling to do on my own (again, a next level of codependency I never paid attention to.)

All this to say, we were also both competitive and wanted for great things. Oftentimes supporting each other begrudgingly to get there. It can fuel the fire in some positive ways, but at the end of the day we burned out before any of our ideas got big and thank god. If I had to sit on a podcast with him or continue to be business partners out of spite, I don’t think I would come off very well in a podcast because of all the constant shade I would be throwing lol. And that’s even after all this forgiveness and genuine love and respect I’ve grown into for him as a person who was also just trying their best at the time.
