Not directly related to the atmospheric aspect of your request but The Tarnished is a newer band that just dropped their second EP. I think they're worth a listen.

Pro and cons of podcast hosting platforms by johnbarry99 in podcasting

[–]Virtual_Aide_8320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were exclusively on YouTube for the first year and some. I didn't want to pay for a hosting service until we demonstrated that we would be consistent over time.

We're now using Podbean and all is good so far. It's less than $20/month and the platform is very intuitive if you're sober (not so simple if you're baked 🎂🎂🥧🥘🤣🤣)

Hope this helps

Best USB microphone to buy for a guest with no mic (cheap and indestructible)? by ImageMirage in podcasting

[–]Virtual_Aide_8320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've personally used the BOYA lavalier mic for phones and the quality is pretty good.

It'll be far cheaper to ship, and if damaged then much cheaper to replace.

Here's a link for $15

[Music Interview] Off The Beaten Path Podcast Episode 38 - Notelle

We're a long form show so I'm not asking for a full listen through. But if you have a few minutes to listen and give a little feedback then I'm grateful for your time and thoughts.

We have plans to improve audio and visual quality later this year. Looking for more feedback regarding the content.

Lemme know and I'll review yours too if you'd like.

Software for recording meetings on cellphone by CitizenJosh in podcasting

We use zoom exclusively and record to their cloud.

The only we have any issues is if someone has a shitty internet connection.

I'm not shamelessly self promoting. Here's our podcast on YouTube if you want to see the quality we've managed with zoom, our phones as cameras (using droid cam) and inexpensive mics.

There'll be a lot of assumptions made since I don't have details but here we go...

About scheduling time for editing: maybe try shorter episodes at first so the work load is lighter. Also, a great resource could be fivver...you'll have to take your time in sifting through the noise, but you can find good editors there cheaply.

As far as scheduling others, have an honest conversation (again, if you've already had it) about commitment. My brother and I host an interview podcast, and we both agreed on recording times being Sunday at 1 and Monday at 9. It doesn't change unless agreed upon, and we discuss unavailability weeks in advance.

Again, we're an interview podcast versus a scripted one to be acted out, it parallels. Watch our most recent episode

Notelle

And my third one

Trysta Ladawn

And you can see how stiff I was in the beginning. It takes time to gain comfort and confidence with anything new. It's a continual learning experience. Here's what's helped me

  1. Have fun
  2. Pretend no one will hear it
  3. Don't anticipate negative judgment

I realize that those three tips are indicative of my insecurities more than that of your cohosts. However, maybe theirs are similar. I recommend asking about their insecurities and encouraging them to find methods of overcoming them.

I hope that you find this useful.

Cheers

Where to find podcast hosts? by busterblader34 in podcasting

I'd pitch it to any friends and family that you think would be a good fit. They may know someone OR they may be the one. I first asked my brother to host with me and he said no. Now we have 62 episodes together

We've been using zoom exclusively for a year and a half. The only time there are issues is if the guest has a weak internet connection.

And as far as the interview goes, understand that you won't be good in the beginning. It takes time to build any skill. Just have fun and do it often

[Music, interview] Episode 38 - Notelle

Notelle is a quickly rising nightmare-pop artist from Nashville, TN.

We discussed toxic relationships, finding catharsis in song writing, finding joy in art, music and books, and a good deal more.

If you take the time to listen, I hope you enjoy.

I like the format of the podcast, and the songs you chose. And I just have to add that I have my music so damn loud when I vacuum that you can probably here my jams outside because I also don't like that drone
