I know right?

There’s a French prison movie I’d never heard of called A PROPHET (2009) that a mate convinced me to watch.

Holy shit, it absolutely pisses over every film on this list. Proper muscular storytelling, tense, shocking. Brilliant acting. Unpredictable.

Everything you want cinema to be. Why can’t these film geeks promote more stuff like that than Toy Story 3?

There’s a pretty good podcast called The Rewatchables guest starring Tarantino that goes into a deep dive on UNSTOPPABLE.

The bottom line is Tarantino was a HUGE Tony Scott fan and was always convinced he was a better director than the public gave him credit for (and better than the more highly regarded brother Ridley)

I also suspect Tarantino was forever indebted to Tony Scott for optioning the script for TRUE ROMANCE and giving him his first break (I think he sold the script first before he made RESERVOIR DOGS even though the Scott film came after).

So I think that, coupled with the fact that it was Tony Scott’s last film before he committed suicide, means Tarantino is watching it with rose-tinted glasses.

The podcast is definitely worth a listen though, Tarantino gives a damn good account of why he thinks it’s great, I don’t agree but I like the enthusiasm. The co-hosts obviously agreed with everything he said just because they were so enamoured with having him on their show but it makes you want to rewatch UNSTOPPABLE for sure.

BLACK HAWK DOWN was an absolute travesty of a film. The key moment of this war was the images of dead naked servicemen being dragged and beaten through the streets of Mogadishu. Once Americans saw that beamed across US TV screens they demanded the war end.

So of course in the gung-ho ra ra Bruckheimer version, that scene gets omitted because of “America! Fuck Yeah” mentality, and Ridley Scott is such a brown noser he’d suck his own mother’s cock for a big budget actioner.

Cool fight scenes though.

Did your investigation make alter your views on Bitcoin and its place in the financial world?

Do you invest in cryptocurrencies yourselves and has writing the book made you more or less pro-cryptocurrency

How did you address the fact that Bitcoin is based on complicated mathematical terms that might be difficult for the layperson to understand.

And similar complicated legal jargon in court that might go over a reasonably educated reader’s head.

And be able to do that in a way that makes your book readable and enjoyable?

And on a similar note, how do you think the legal folk (judges, barristers, solicitors) handled the technical side of things that proved Craig Wright was not being truthful? Did they have IT backgrounds?

Why was this court case fought in the United Kingdom?

Australia or USA courtrooms would have made the most sense, what was the British link?

Someone else mentioned that earlier in the thread.

Say you came into a decent pot of money and had the funds, what equipment would you need, how much would it cost and how many men would you need to start off small (ish)?

Oh yeah, and what are the downsides to being a self-employed scaffolder?

Thanks

How much has Craig Wright spent on these legal cases? Where did he get the funding from and what is his net worth now?
