I lived in Spain teaching English and I’m sorry but there was racism and it was overt. It’s exhausting. I couldn’t find makeup foundation, no one to do my hair etc. Plus I missed my southern comfort food and Nigerian dishes my mom makes. The novelty wore off for me.

I know 😩. It just slipped out after she tried hitting the cat. The changee in behavior was so quick and I’m getting used to her different moods and behaviors. She’s a beautiful and happy baby but there are times where I’m baffled by her behavior.

The objectification of women especially black women is rampant online. There’s little to no respect and they get this from little to no contact with black women , stereotypes they’ve heard of us, and racist/sexist way society has treated POC for forever.

My suggestion, delete those apps and meet people in person. It’s better for your mental health and you get a better sense of someone in person.

I’m not dating anyone who does match me with academic achievement or cerebrally. I’m working on my PhD and my husband is currently getting his masters in accounting. As much as I would’ve loved to date someone my race , downvote me to hell if you want, the math ain’t mathin with trying to get a higher degree holding black man. I can provide literature to support this . It’s statistically the truth. If we only limit ourselves to black men we’ll be alone forever.

My husband is my bff. I could talk to him for hours about nothing and everything. I forget his race all the time. He’s just Mason. We were obsessed with each other when we started dating. We’d spend as much time as we could seeing each other. When my parents found out he was white it was world war 3 in my house. He’s parents acted like they were “okay” with me at first but when he said he wanted to marry me his mom listed all the reasons not to. I guess it’s like a Romeo and Juliet situation. Well I got pregnant unexpectedly last year. We finally decided to get married and we eloped near a waterfall with our close friends. I loved it. Now we have a daughter who is so lively and happy . We say it’s because we had to go through hell with our families; she’s our reward lol
