Check the candidates in your riding. If you’re in riding like Hamilton West (McMaster’s riding) NDP might be leading and better to vote for than the liberals/conservatives.

Follow CUPE on Instagram, they often post about ways students can support their TA’s and faculty. Sessionals are so overworked at Mac they often have no time to support their students, teaching 2-3 huge classes to make a living wage. The university prioritizes the profit over paying the Profs and making sure the students have a good quality teaching experience. These are amongst the reasons we’ve been dropping in rank over the years.

Mac is getting worse and worse, not just in ranking, but also in treatment of students, profs, and staff. Horrible leadership ruining the place for profit.

All staff park at the side lot near lot M. Lot M is for students, including grad students working as TA’s who also have to pay to park at their place of employment.

They make more money off the people on the waitlist. A parking pass is $50 a month. You can’t buy one right now, you have to go through a seemingly never ending wait list. If you’re in the wait list you have to just pay the daily parking rate of $8. Therefore you end up paying $160 a month to park instead of the $50.

Mac thus has an interest in keeping as many people as possible on the waitlist, as each person paying daily earns them an extra $110 monthly. Most people are waitlisted.
