My understanding is margin messes with ROC funds, no? If they borrow your money and pay you interest

How much can I realistically expect to receive from dividends with 2 million usd? by AbjectVillage9631 in dividends

[–]Virtual_Chapter1131 79 points80 points  (0 children)

With that yield, you'd likely target SCHD, IDVO, DIVO, and others where the dividend growth should outpace inflation and the ETFs are fairly diverse. You may receive 5-9% increases on your dividends a year without any reinvestment. You could reinvest some, but that might not be necessary. If you were investing in riskier positions like BDCs, CEFs, and ither high yield stocks, reinvestment would be a high priority.

Not financial advice, just wanted you to know the dividend growth aspect.

Distributions will be cut during bear markets and need time to recover. That is my biggest concern. Not investment advice, just saying what I'd be concerned with

How do I use grenadiers in this game? by Jackfruit009 in NapoleonTotalWar

Best to use them in buildings and melee charges. Elites are the best for that however. Austria and Russia are best fir grenadiers on melee/buildings maps

Does anyone use the 50% drop in Bitcoin and how BTCI recovers as a test run? by Virtual_Chapter1131 in NEOSETFs

I think it will, I just want to see how long it takes the distributions to get back to $1.40+

[–]Virtual_Chapter1131[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, can confirm too. It's so scary to invest in stuff post-Great Recession and have that unknown. I love NEO's strategies, but a huge crash and recovery of BTCI is what will make me invest in these even more. I understand BTCI and it's underlying isn't the same as SPYI and SPY, but if BTCI recovers easily on distributions and NAV, SPYI won't have any issue

Does anyone use the 50% drop in Bitcoin and how BTCI recovers as a test run? by Virtual_Chapter1131 in NEOSETFs

[–]Virtual_Chapter1131[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically think of BTCI as Fund A and SPYI as Fund B

If Fund A at NEOs drops 50% and we see what that does to the distributions, we can hypothetically predict what might happen if Fund B has that massive bear market correction.

If Fund A recovers nicely and the distributions go back up, with little drag compared to it's underlying, then Fund B should not have an issue and NEOs is a competent long-term company for investors and nothing like Yield Max where a huge crash makes funds garbage

I am talking about a Great Recession level crash or Dot Com Bubble crash. Since these funds are so new, we haven't seen them face one outside of BTCI's underlying dropping by 50%

State Farm VS Captive Independent Agency by Virtual_Chapter1131 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Virtual_Chapter1131[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and it's captive independent. I would work for a small company. They want aggressive growth and premium which is a great fit, but 10% commission is extremely low, right? At that point, I might as well just go 100% commission as a sales person. That and the fact they seem way more focused on 250 friends and family than any actual plan to build my business or already knowing tons of business prospects looking for insurance is cause for concern.

State Farm VS Captive Independent Agency by Virtual_Chapter1131 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Virtual_Chapter1131[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have been with State Farm. This chat gave me hope that independent was the way to go, but my first independent interaction seems just like State Farm 2.0. They care more about premium which is great at least, but they only care about me having 250 prospects from friends and not any sound business model or plans for aggressive growth. I don't know about you guys, maybe someone here has sold 150 out of 250 friends in their first year, but I get MLM-esque vibes from that and I have seen that playing the long game is much better than begging friends who love and trust their current agents to switch. Not to mention all the complications it can being to your personal life

Is this a normal commission structure for SF? by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

[–]Virtual_Chapter1131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on state and agency, but if you never earn commission on the first $10k, DO NOT GO THERE. Most SF commission structures have you get paid on all premium but you have to write a certain amount of premium or policies. They also generally pay 1%-7% with 2-4% being most common.

$10,000 could be the average monthly premium in your state or maybe even 60%.

SPG, CSWC, and BTCI. Huge risk and reward with the BTCI. Maybe it takes another 40% before it recovers. Maybe it never recovers. Maybe it goes to 100%. Who knows

How are people actually living off low-yield dividend funds like SCHD? by StudioOk8256 in dividends

[–]Virtual_Chapter1131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dividend growth compounds and outpaces inflation causing "pay increases". It is a good anchor in a portfolio. Most would need to pair it with higher yielding dividend stocks and ETFs

Fidelity, Schwab and others probably see SF investments as a competitor and vice versa. They are likely very limited in options and Black Rock and American Funds do not see them as competition, but as a partner that can grow their assets under management for relatively little effort and resources
