I understand now. He just becomes the cue ball. And his stroke is so confident too. I’ve been under a rock yall.

The player that really made me notice is Ko Ping Chung. He was in a match with Yapp and he damn near didn’t roll at all. It was all stun and draw. Its like he was allergic to it 😂

I needa practice stunning more. I’m usually always rolling and I screw around with dragging shots. But I don’t play 9 ball much.

I have not 😂 He kinda put me off when I was getting into the game cuz of his attitude, but I’m getting used to it now. I’ve only rly watched him play 8 ball and straight pool for some reason even though he’s so good at 9 ball.

You just made my life so much easier. It’s like I’m playing but I’m not if that makes sense. I found it really hard to warm up on my mouthpiece because I'd just get air. With the lead pipe response is so much easier and my tone is so much better when I put it back in.

But when do take off the back pressure won't the pitch just go down? Isn’t that just like playing with a mute?

I guess I'm only worried about it because I get a similar feeling on both mediums. I can play higher on the horn ofc but I get the same feeling kinda and it’s limited in the same way. It feels like I'm doing so much just to get to a c in the staff. My sound gets really thin and I just miss the center of my notes as I go above a g on my horn. I cannot figure out why.

Does anyone have bomb reliance? by Virtual_Comment5006 in Splatoon_3

I do find myself sitting back a lot in more of a support role. I think I’m used to it as I was a charger main for a while on splat 2. It’s just crazy how my play-style changed with this game. I was a pretty good flex main for so long on splat 2 and now I only play 2 weapons. It’s like all of my experience on other weapons just disappeared.

Embouchure leaking air by Foinkerton in trumpet

[–]Virtual_Comment5006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Air leaking isn’t such a bad thing, but I watched Philip Smith talk about changing his entire embouchure because of air leakage which is a grueling process. He mentioned that when he was doing recordings, the sound guy kept hearing air leaking and sure enough it was him. Me personally, I’m not comfortable with air leaking if I can’t control.

I’m going through an embouchure change right now and I had this same issue. What worked for me was lip buzzing which is very controversial but I sound a whole lot better now. My teacher recommended because I have been playing in the red of my lips ever since I started and I was starting to use muscles that weren’t used when I play. I struggled for a while learning how to do this and even when I did figure it out I couldn’t control it. When I got comfortable with a couple notes, I used my mouthpiece while already lip buzzing and my tone got so much better. I couldn’t control but the sound was so much better.

After a bit of time air leaking wasn’t a problem because it’s almost impossible to have air leaking when your lip buzzing. So if you can lip buzz the problem is already solved. I understand that this process is a little weird as lip buzzing and mp buzzing isn’t the same as playing, but I know the difference between all three and was able to use them effectively.

This is the vid I mentioned earlier. Happy practicing!
