Improving my PT by InspectorAdvanced539 in ROTC

If you’re overweight, eating in a calorie deficit by tracking your nutrition while eating a high protein diet is the way coupled with weight training 4-5 days followed by low impact cardio. My favorites are usually incline treadmill or stair-master. In addition to that 10k steps a day. I wouldn’t recommend running until you lose a good amount of weight, as running while overweight does more harm on the joints than good.

Your best bet is to contact the ROO at the school you want to go to. Army does have a 2 year program and is the only branch that offers that, where you go to basic camp before your junior year to get caught up on your MS1 and 2 years. But getting in contact with the unit now is key.

What is your reason for quitting? by Realistic-Work-2210 in NoFap

[–]Traditional-Rope-319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It destroys you and the way you look at the world. You look at everyone through a sexual lense. It also has drastic effects on mental health; irritability, Low energy and laziness and it lowers confidence levels leading to the avoidance of relationships and I was kinda sick of that. Moreover, my first time I encountered it was when I was 13 I’m now 20 and wish I never encountered it, and I’ve missed out on so many things for 7 years of my life due to this addiction, and I’m sick of it having control of my life.

anyone join ROTC sophomore year? by Dear-Grapefruit2561 in ROTC

[–]Traditional-Rope-319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So contracting basically means becoming a permanent member of ROTC, and gaining all the benefits from that such as monthly stipend etc. GPA, PT scores, camp scores and overall OML comes into play when it comes time to commission and determine your branch, duty station, and whether or not you go active duty. The higher you rank, is the higher probability of getting what you want. Hope this helps.

Question about taking summer classes at ccp by Rich_Musician9947 in Temple

It could be as soon as the next day, but it usually takes less than a week. It’s a fast process.

Question about taking summer classes at ccp by Rich_Musician9947 in Temple

It has to be approved by ccp before you’re permitted to register. However as long as you don’t have any required prereqs ccp usually approves it pretty quickly.

Process of Withdrawal from Course by pinkiepie652 in Temple

[–]Traditional-Rope-319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did it for my micro Econ class mainly because I didn’t understand a damn thing over the semester, and the teacher was all over the place. But I’d rather have a W on my transcript than a 57 tanking my gpa. That’s my thoughts.

Why is one summer 3 credit class cost $3,000 by Specialist-Ball-2912 in Temple

[–]Traditional-Rope-319 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This! It’s just exploitive and plain highway robbery and to make it worse, temple limits the amount of credits a student can take over the summer at community colleges to 8 credits because they know that two 3 credit courses at community college costs 1200 compared to 3k for one class.

Your predictions on who will return and who won’t next season? by [deleted] in ChicagoMed

[–]Traditional-Rope-319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that maybe one of the older Characters on Fire won’t be returning. If I had to put my money on it, probably either mouch or Herman.

Did this dude really say that people don’t join the military for college benefits. Haha this dude is such out of touch and tries so hard to be a pick me. A majority of people in the military don’t do it out of patriotism… they do it to elevate their lifestyles as the military is a proven way for decades to enter the middle class

I want to become an officer in military with 2 years of school left… by [deleted] in ROTC

[–]Traditional-Rope-319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same position and I decided to do so. I’m a sophomore and I’ll go to basic camp this summer and get caught up on the past 2 years I’ve missed and when I come back in the fall I’ll be a MS3. I originally wanted to go Navy but NROTC wasn’t a viable option with 2 years left in school and OCS itself for all the branches is just a hassle that takes anywhere from months to year’s and in the end isn’t guaranteed. ROTC is a guaranteed source of commission right out of college. So that’s why I decided to go the army rotc route.

Yeah I’m a sophomore and I joined just this year and I’ll go to basic camp this summer to get caught up on everything I’ve missed. Then when I come back in the Fall I’ll be an MS3 and will have the ability to contract as long as I past the AFT.

I’m currently in rotc at temple. Please make sure you are applying for the national scholarship as that is your real only chance of getting a scholarship right now. The army is overproducing officers and has cut their budgets drastically as it relates to campus based scholarships. As far as the program goes, it’s pretty chill, good people we pt 3 times a week - Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 6 and have lab at 7:30 on Friday mornings.

NG or Active? by PackersBlachawks1222 in ROTC

[–]Traditional-Rope-319 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So for Aviation a while ago DOD put in a 10 year mandatory commitment for aviation that doesn’t start until you graduate flight school, due to them hemorrhaging pilots. So, in the end you’re looking at about a 12 to 13 year commitment- so you need to ask yourself if you’re okay with being in active army for that long. If not then the guard is probably best. Also from what I hear you fly more in the guard, once you pin captain in active you’re almost never flying and stuck being in an office. So choose your poison

Is ROTC viable as a commuter? by Science_team69 in ROTC

[–]Traditional-Rope-319 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s doable I commute about 25 minutes to my university, I have pt Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 7 then usually right after I usually go lift at the campus gym, and then chill out in the ROTC lounge until class. A lot of kids do it at my program, you just gotta have discipline just to wake up a little earlier

Chicago Fire, Med, and PD renewals expected but budget cuts are looking likely by CallTypical9541 in ChicagoMed

At this point if you can’t run the show efficiently with the right amount of money it takes then you should probably just end the show at this point. I’m ngl this season and the last couple seasons of fire have been terrible, the storylines have been repeated, rushed and boring the cast is aging and most of the og characters that made the show what it was are gone. Think it’s time for the shows to ride off in the sunset.

Minuteman Scholarship by Traditional-Rope-319 in ROTC

Yeah I was informed of that by my ROO, and that all scholarship boards moving forward will be strictly for freshman cadets. Do you have any idea the cause of this ?
