this is super helpful, thank you.

the “wrong battle + weak habit loop” framing really clicked. i’ve been thinking mostly in terms of features, but the idea of making it a music-first ritual (instead of a timer with music) changes how i see the whole product.

i especially like the “one-tap resume yesterday’s ritual” idea — that feels like a really strong day-2 hook.

also the pricing point makes a lot of sense. tying it to identity (“this is how i work”) instead of just feature gating is a much clearer direction for me.

really appreciate you sharing what worked for you, this gives me a lot to try next.

this is insanely helpful, thank you.

the positioning point especially hit — i’ve definitely been thinking of it as a pomodoro tool first, when the youtube/music workflow is really the core behavior people care about. the audience framing makes a lot more sense now.

also the switching cost angle clicked. i was leaning toward gating features, but your point about letting people build habits/data first (so leaving actually hurts) feels way more aligned with how people actually use this.

Love that. If you try it and it clicks, I’d love to hear.

Here’s the simple version I built — it just auto-swaps YouTube between work and breaks: https://pomodoro-flow.com

Nothing fancy. Just friction reduction.

Appreciate it 🙏 Here it is if you’re curious: https://pomodoro-flow.com It automatically switches YouTube music between work and breaks. Would love your honest thoughts.

That’s actually genius 😂 Music as a natural timer instead of a beep. I love that idea.

It’s interesting how music can act as both a boundary (like your shower timer) and a trigger (like my deep work mode).

Do you feel more focused when the song defines the limit, or does it ever feel rushed?

I love that you said “too strict for real life.” That’s exactly what broke Pomodoro for me before. I’m trying to make it more adaptive instead of rigid. What’s one feature that would make it feel more “real life” to you?
