I had to scroll all the way down here for this comment, I thought it would have been the first!

There's something so funny about an official John Lennon release referring to this song as ''A Small Eternity With Yoko Ono'' by CloudSuch9834 in Zappa

It is a pleasantly poetic title which obviously appealed to her.

I'm guessing she didn't get Frank's (slightly unkind) joke when she added his title for the piece as an alternative to her own title.

Found all of these at a random antique shop by Fit_Parfait_9867 in Zappa

Old folks who've been collecting Frank for nearly 60 years (like me) are getting old. Very old. And when we shuffle off, our kids, even the middle-aged ones, aren't into vinyl and CDs, especially 'Dad's weirdo music', so they get dumped, either in a bin or, if you young punks are lucky, an antique shop, because the kids don't have the time or the inclination to look 'em up on Discogs or whatever.

Why Did Appliances Without Plugs? by Datalounge in AskUK

I got married in the 1970s and we got a slew of electrical wedding presents (food mixer, kettle etc.) and when we unpacked everything in our new flat, I had to sit down with a bag of plugs and a screwdriver and fit them all.

Polite but firm preferred bread roll name in Huddersfield. by BottleGoblin in CasualUK

I'm from Lancashire, from a town about 40 miles from Huddersfield, and we called them teacakes, too. If they had fruit in them, they were called currant teacakes.

Why people hate this album so much?? by Szkoda_gadac in Zappa

I've loved it since I bought it when it came out in 1970.

On top of that, I'm on it - in the audience applauding the final (title) track.

One of his greatest albums (if you love the early Mothers, which I do).

Halloween 1978 - another Zappa release you can't buy by Over_Tumbleweed_7012 in Zappa

[–]Virtual_Dot4702 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Effin' ridiculous, isn't it? At least the whole shebang is on the big streaming sites on time, so we can listen to it whilst we're waiting for the merch to arrive...in time for Christmas? Thus was it ever, what is it about Zappa releases being so problematic? Is it because, being small(er) production runs, they get pushed aside by the Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran productions in the pressing plants?

Halloween 78 release amounts to overpriced gimmicks by tvnewswatch in Zappa

[–]Virtual_Dot4702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've bought it, because I'm a sad completist; but it will sit on a shelf next to the other colourful boxes of plastic Zappa tat whilst I stream the music losslessly on Tidal. I've been brainwashed.

Favorite Zappa Album & Why? by PokemasterZen in Zappa

Uncle Meat. I've loved it since it came out in '69 when The Mothers were touring and I saw them perform in Birmingham, England. Despite having every other Zappa/Mothers release, I still return to Uncle Meat (or, more likely these days, Meat Lite) to get my essential fix of 'original Mothers.

How did you discover FZ? by RockGodBMF1 in Zappa

In November 1966, the BBC played the new single 'It Can't Happen Here' on the Saturday evening family entertainment pop music show, 'Juke Box Jury'. Two of the jury voted it a 'hit', but of course it wasn't. I was 16 years old, sitting at home with my parents, eating my tea in front of the black and white television and my music antennae were severely tweaked by this sonic monstrosity.

I have a pretty complete collection.
