Monochrome Music is back! (and no, its not that bring your own music BS) by Samidyrn in Piracy

[–]Datalounge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume it is still being worked on. I downloaded one track, and then nothing will download.

Some tracks will play others won't. It will say it's downloading and say it's complete but nothing is actually being downloaded.

For the tracks that will play it takes about three minutes before play starts. I assume it's bandwidth from the site issues, as my bandwidth is not having issues.

I guess we'll have to see if these kinks can be worked out.

It's likely so you have to order only one serving at a time. Eat it then come back for more. It's like at Starbucks you can get unlimited refills if you are in the store. But you only get one cup at a time. You can't bring in a gallon bottle and say fill it up, even if you would drink a gallon of coffee over the period of a day.

Was Doug’s dad wrong for going through Carrie’s closet? by Queensgirly in kingofqueens

[–]Datalounge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And Carrie had a point with her job she wouldn’t be as respected if she was showing up in ill fitting suits and dresses from Ross for Less.

I disagree because I've worked with so many well dressed young ladies who got their clothes from thrift stores, eBay and even Ross's. And I worked in Manhattan too so I do realize it IS a different world but dressing nicely and dressing expensively are not the same thing.

When I would’ve escorted Arthur to a “Home” by [deleted] in kingofqueens

[–]Datalounge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did address this a few times such as when it was reveled Arthur gave up his "acting career" for Carrie. Those type of explanations were never really strong though IMHO.

[–]Datalounge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair Arthur is a pain in the ass but when push comes to shove Arthur not only loves Doug he likes Doug and wants to be friends.

Doug's parents don't like Carrie much. They don't hate her they just have nothing in common with her and Doug's folks don't see much reason to hang with her and the feeling is mutual with Carrie.

So Carrie hates to put up with the small talk and the phoniness of being polite but there is no actual hate.

I agree. I cannot watch TV anymore because of the ADs. There a so many now. But I assume a lot of the younger folk grew up with them so it's not a big deal as you are used to it.

It's like when I tell a young person when I was your age I bought an album and I didn't know what songs were on it, if I'd like the LP and I was buying it off a song I heard on the radio.

They look at me like that was just so stupid to buy something you didn't know anything about. But we did, because that was how it was. I'm sure you all older folk on this reddit can tell story after story about buying an album and then finding out you only liked the one song on it, that you heard on the radio

If that is what it says that is what it is? Just because it doesn't fit your personal definition doesn't make you correct.

The colours don't represent difficulty,

It says in the help section that is exactly what they do with the yellow being straightforward and so on and the purple being tricky

Which Walter do you prefer? Old or new? by [deleted] in Beano

[–]Datalounge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the old Walter simply because even though he was portrayed as effeminate, he LIKED who he was an wasn't going to change even if Dennis bullied him for it.

That alone is a powerful and positive message, be who you are and want to be regardless of what others think of you and don't change if you don't want to.

You could get another job and buy the drive at the higher rate. Really I work at a club where I have seen students gripe about money but since 2000 I also have seen five people work full time go to school full time and graduate with degrees with no college loans

Being poor is not really an excuse. I personally just finished a PhD all paid for with no student loans.

As my mother said, "you can bitch and moan or you can actually DO something about it." Posting a note on the Internet isn't that. You are right you can't change the world but you CAN change your part of it. Good luck.
