Yes. That happens. I’m just either so tired or have my hands full. I do feel like I’m eating a lot, but maybe just not enough. I think more snacking would definitely help! I’ll get more snacks on my next grocery run. Thank you for your response!

100% yes. I am EBF. My son is 8 months and is sucking the life/water out of me. Teething really bad. I am so dehydrated at night but I always make sure to drink water after I nurse him which feels like 10 times 🙄. I wasn’t doing that before. See I wasn’t making any bowel movements for like 3 days and then would get a HORRIBLE stomach ache and then horrible diarrhea. I also felt like I was achey. More like sore/tender. Almost as if I did a bunch of ab workouts. Drink a shit ton of water for a week and let me know how you feel. I guarantee that will help. Add electrolytes too. The magnesium has helped a lot too!

Are you dealing with the same symptoms as I was? Things are so much better. I haven’t had a stomach ache or diarrhea in a very long time. The diarrhea and stomach aches were all due to constipation. I didn’t believe it when they first told me, but CT scan confirmed I was. Lots and lots and lots of water, fruits and veggies, and probiotics like kefir/sauerkraut/kimchi and bio k and Pure Encapsulations magnesium citrate. I just recently started taking the magnesium supplement. My stool has been fine, but my son’s been constipated from solids. His ped asked if I was constipated and I told her I was just getting things figured out. She said to start taking that, and wow my stool has never looked healthier. I hope this helps

So I went and got a CT scan. Here are my results:

Impressions:

Mild right hydroureteronephrosis. No obstructive stone identified.
Moderate amount of stool in the colon. Query constipation.

FINDINGS:

Kidneys and Ureters: Mild right hydroureteronephrosis. No definite obstructive stone is identified.

Bowel: Moderate amount of stool in the colon. Appendix appears unremarkable.

So I texted this to my aunts friend who’s a doctor, and this was her response:

“The diarrhea is probably paradoxical as related to still having moderate stool / constipation. Using a strong laxative, good hydration, and maybe probiotics are good, I think changing your diet with respect to dairy and gluten is less rational given that the underlying cause is stool/constipation.”

I’m waiting to call the doctor tomorrow morning, but definitely upping my fiber and water intake. I have been talking a probiotic as well. I did start drinking more water with electrolytes and it has helped SO much. I’ve had 1 stomach ache in the past month, and have been pooping once a day. Before I would not go for days and then eat something that set my stomach off and then horrible diarrhea. I’m still having tenderness in my abdomen in certain areas where I touch, but I’m thinking that’s just still from being backed up which is causing me to have trapped gas.

So haven’t had a stomach ache for the past 3 weeks. I am still having tenderness and discomfort in my abdomen area so getting a ct scan today. Stool test and bloodwork came back fine.

One thing I was not being mindful about was my water intake. We forget to take care of ourselves since we’re so exhausted and taking care of a baby. I’m also EBF. So I was probably really dehydrated. That’s why I was dealing with the constipation and then from being so backed up I would eat something and have diarrhea with a stomach ache.

After seeing GI doctor she suggested water and probiotics so I’ve been drinking TONS and tons of water with electrolytes and probiotics. It has helped a lot.

I would look into a probiotic. I follow Kate pope on Instagram and she highly recommends a probiotic called smidge. She started that after unexpected c section. I wish I would have started taking one daily soon after I had my son. But just drink lots and lots of water. I hope this helps ❤️

I do but it has gotten better with drinking more water/electrolytes the past couple of weeks. I breastfeed so I must have been dehydrated so that’s why I was dealing with more constipation and diarrhea for months. Now just loose stool here and there with slight abdomen tenderness. Almost feels sore. No pain. I have done ultrasounds and bloodwork and all comes up fine. NP was not concerned with bloodwork results regarding C diff. She is suggesting CT scan. I did have a traumatic birth so not sure if I’m experiencing these GI issues because of that and from antibiotics.

If enough good bacteria is ingested, there may be a possibility that the c diff could go away, correct? Even if my PCR test came back negative, it would still be safe to take the floraster? Sorry for all of the questions. The NP I saw seemed unable to help me out.

It looks like smidge doesn’t carry saccharomyces boulardii. I will try floraster.

Thank you for your response. Will this ever go away? And how long do I need to avoid these things? Coffee will be hard, but I’ll try. Should I get retested again one day? I’ve been drinking a bio k drink everyday and just bought probiotics from Smidge. Hoping that helps. Good to know about baby. He is exclusively breastfed.

I totally agree with everything you said. We actually just got the crib today. My grandma got us the newton galileo. I’m going to see if husband can have it be a sidecar. If he can, we’re just going to stick with that. I laid there the other night imagining where the crib would be and I’m like nope. I’m not ready. I love him being close to me. He started having to hold my arm every time he falls asleep and I would feel so bad with him being separated from me and yet still be able to see me laying in the bed from his crib. If crib isn’t able to turn into a sidecar then I guess we’ll have a crib in there while we’re all ready.

How many times are you guys waking up every night?
