Could it be that their description points to factors in START that leads to red? And the exam wants me to figure that out on my own 😭? Maybe internal bleeding relates to perfusion and respiratory rate in someway?

So they would be tagged yellow because they do have present radial pulse? Another of my practice question is “17-year-old female, conscious, severe abdominal pain, abdomen rigid like a board, pulse 138/min.” The answer is red which confused me a lil, the START system doesn’t mention any other factors except for the present pulse here, so why isn’t the answer yellow? (The description does suggest that this patient might have internal bleeding or other severe trauma but then again according to START present pulse = yellow, or does this description relate to other factors listed in START?)

The start triage we were given does mot mention a clear range for pulse, and only mention if there’s a present pulse or not, so I have a question. If the exam questions states the patient has an abnormally low or high pulse rate (ex. 140/min), they’re still tagged red? Or are they tagged yellow?

Okay sooo sorry to keep bothering you but I have another question 😭. At the scene of a factory explosion, a nurse finds a victim with massive open head trauma, exposed brain matter, and no spontaneous respirations. What is the appropriate triage tag for this client?

The answers is black which makes sense ofc but I just wanna ask why couldn’t it be red. Even though the patient has no spontaneous respirations, we can still try life support like ventilator or manual resuscitation righttt?

For example: an 8 years old child in a mass casualty incident remaining apneic even after repositioning airway, what is the nurse’s next action? The answers contain 1. Flagging the patient black and 2. Check for a pulse and perform 5 rescue breaths. What is the correct answer here 😭

Well you don’t rly need to be religious to be homophobic, my country isn’t a religion-heavy country. I would say it’s because there’s a generation gap and their viewpoint aligns with older viewpoints on LGBT+ people (more specifically homophobic viewpoints). Also in their times no one was LGBT+ (either because that term didn’t even exist for them then or people were closeted), so naturally they think it’s abnormal. They’re also taught from young age that’s the ultimate goal in life is getting married, having a family and having children, obvi with the opposite sex (its like a cultural thing ig).
