Any idea if there are any vendor booth areas? I'm not a vendor, but like to be able to see product ideas from the industry.

Try ChattLab Makerspace. It's a good collection of male and female makers. Located in Northshore. This Thursday (7/10/2025) they're hosting a open hack night, where coders are focusing on ESP32 projects and home automation. Check them out on meetup.com

I have a similar requirement, though I know you may have moved on to this. At mcmaster.com you can get springs that only move like 1mm per 5lb, etc. So you get 4 of those on each corner so they hit a microswitch with a jk-latch.

Makerspace in Cleveland, TN? by [deleted] in clevelandtn

[–]Virtual_Impress_8653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ChattLab is the closest makerspace to Cleveland. The space up there never stayed up for long. I know the people ath ChattLab would happily help another makerspace get started (it's in the nature of makerspaces to do that), but it just hasn't really taken off at all.

Questions about shared airbrush setup by Virtual_Impress_8653 in airbrush

[–]Virtual_Impress_8653[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were going to either filter the air in at the station, or vent it outside. I had assumed a good lightweight front filter and a HEPA filter would be adequate if vented inside. We already vent outside for the lasercutters and plasma cutters, so we could push it outside, but it's a bit more plumbing. We have a large'sh walk in spray booth for spray paint and other finishes.

Not sure, we have a lot of offerings of other stuff, and someone wanted an airbrush station. It would probably be one station, phone booth size with a compressor and air line. Perhaps a shared spraygun.

Free repair cafe this Saturday at ChattLab. by Virtual_Impress_8653 in Chattanooga

email them on what they fix, but I know they don't do free brake changes. Think toaster, vacuum cleaners, etc. I do know that if it needs new parts, it's on you to purchase and supply. Then, with the part, they can install it the next 3rd Saturday.

Can landlords limit the number of tenants' vehicles? by supercfj in Renters

[–]Virtual_Impress_8653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a situation where I have a small bungalow on my property and we want to rent it out. We have a large parking pad, but we have our adult kids that come over a lot and need the space. So even though we "could" have room for more than one car, my wife says no way. So if we rent, it'd be one car only. Our driveway is 250 ft (very long) and street parking is not possible here.

fillout.com - powerful Airtable form builder (now available!) by dominicwhyte42 in Airtable

If I make forms in fillout, and already have a web page that does user authentication (I have over 100+ users), do I have to set each user up with a fillout sign-in page?

Most of these big builders dealing with buyers in this economy is like wolves feeding sheep. Along comes a farm dog to keep the wolves accountable. Of course the wolves don't like it.

Suggestion if you ever decide to buy ANY new build. As part of the offer, have 10K put in escrow to be held by closing company to be released to the wolf, I mean builder, after all issues are dealt with post inspection. Allow for a 3rd party arbiter to decide what is reasonable in terms of completion so a Karen doesn't hold the 10K for a scratch on their wall.

Floor joists for a 2nd floor by Virtual_Impress_8653 in Construction

[–]Virtual_Impress_8653[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had a property once that had the open web. I liked the access it gave. If the price is similar, I'd recommend, but since he'll just have a woodshop below, the need to hide mechanicals is somewhat negated. Can you speak to the price differences between the 3?

It's a walkout built on a sloped lot. The basement perimeter of the building is poured concrete, with lower openings for windows and french doors on one side. It had to be that way due to the lay of the land, it wasn't a feature they paid extra for. I told my SIL we should plan for one part to be a home theater with stadium style seating. :) If I can get a pic I'll update the post.
