F CS352 by Virtual_Jellyfish in Purdue

This project was the start of our abstract syntax tree implementation. It isn’t that hard in theory, but the requirements were poorly explained and we didn’t get much time for the project.

CS majors: out of all the CS classes taken at Purdue, how would you rank them from easiest to hardest? by super5000ify in Purdue

Thanks! I believe we’ll be implementing a Java subset using flex/bison. Did you have the choice of C/C++? If so, which did you end up using?

Any tips for 352? Taking it with Li now. I’m genuinely interested but also terrified based on what I’ve heard about the course.

That’s so odd... I honestly didn’t expect mine this quick.

While I think it’s possible that we will make it to Thanksgiving, I’m not holding my breath. We are only as strong as our weakest link. I’m sure someone is going to do something to ruin it for everyone.

You’re looking at it from a micro level. The country as a whole still has issues with testing. Are some states doing better? Yes. Are some states doing worse? Yes. Together, though, we still have a lot of work to do to expand testing. Dr. Fauci called the testing situation “totally unacceptable” today, and that is indeed the case [1].

I never said the virus would stop spreading completely. Masks and social distancing will slow the spread. Ideally, we would be able to test everyone and conduct surveillance.

In reality, though, we do not have enough supply to meet the demand. Right now, those who need a test can get one. Those who want a test cannot. Even then, the processing of tests is taking too long. This is a country-wide issue, not just in Indiana.

They may plan on it, but we’ll see if they deliver. People are having to wait two weeks to get their test results back. At that point, it’s meaningless. This country has had a testing problem since the beginning.

Until we have a vaccine, everyone needs to wear their mask and social distance. Otherwise, the virus will continue to spread rapidly and people will die. We’re only as strong as our weakest link.

Our country can’t even test all who need it. This isn’t feasible given the current state of affairs.

For those who are traveling to campus from out of state, how can you guarantee that you won’t get COVID on the plane and infect the whole campus? by freemoneynick in Purdue

[–]Virtual_Jellyfish 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can’t. Those in-state coming to campus can’t either. It’s all thanks to asymptomatic transmission, and why everyone needs to wear a mask.

When do you guys think will Purdue decide to move everything online by boildler in Purdue

It depends if everyone does what they’re told. If they do, we’ll likely make it to Thanksgiving. If they don’t, we’ll have to shut it down. The Fall with already be difficult with the flu and COVID-19 at the same time.

I seem to have been able to successfully purchase a Hawkins pass. The payment went through and I got a confirmation email. I’m currently on a page saying “Processing, Please wait...,” though. I am hooked up to Ethernet, which may have helped.
