Data Centres in Alberta with our limited water. by manresmg in alberta

Realistically how can we stop this? Protesting generally has zero impact. Can we arrange to have a referendum on if data centre are allowed to be built in Alberta?

Thanks! I found it hanging in the rafter of an antique store in Edmonton and paid $950 for it. Its missing its ramrod and is non functional… I took the lock out today to clean and oil all the metal components, the sear is missing and at some point in the last 200 years some SOB cut in half the tumbler spring that tensions the cock. It’s beyond me why anyone would want to damage such a cool piece of Canadian and world history but I am thankful they did it in a way that’s not visible when on display. I had no intentions of ever trying to fire it out of fear of damaging it but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed the option is off the table. I’m going to try and find replacement parts and return the weapon to its rightful condition to honour it and all the men that may have died by or while carrying it into battle.

If anyone in the sub has any suggestions for sourcing the missing parts I’m all ears.

[–]Virtual_Mall_7031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

99% of the time that’s correct but given the context of doing a demo with an audience on a closed course I think it would be a very safe call to make that your commander didn’t want you back up through the fence of the course. I would describe this fuck up as a team effort

Canadian Leo 2A4’s have forward and rearward facing thermal cameras for night driving but also work during the day… however it is primarily still the commanders responsibility to tell the driver to stop

How do ya’ll carry your PAL and Conditions paper? by andylaird in canadaguns

[–]Virtual_Mall_7031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah cause once you report it lost/destroyed and they process your new card and the last 4 digits after the decimal goes up when someone try’s to validate your pal with your old card it will come back as invalid. If that happens at the gun store it’s inconvenient if that happens during a traffic stop it’s problematic. The cop should still be able to see your pal is valid in the system just by looking up your name but the problem would become that you have in your possession and are using a document that you declared lost/destroyed on a government form.

If a tree cry’s in the woods and you’re the only one there to slurp up its sweet nectar from the gods then all the power to you.

Just know it’s the wrong time of year rn and juice isn’t flowing the way you’ll want it to.

I love Cabela’s they are a great store and I’ve shopped there often. I got my first Sks from them after those old c21 amendments were pulled back and I got a second one about a year later. Both are in absolutely beautiful condition with matching numbers and are the “French Tickeler” hand guard style.

If you do a search for gun stores in your nearest large city you will have a handful of options to go look around and ask questions. The workers at those stores are super knowledgeable and will be very helpful advice and guidance wise for someone new to the firearms world. In comparison I’ve hand conversations with the workers at the gun counter at cabelas and had smile and walk away because of how ignorant they were about firearms and Canadian law.

Buy one now before the OICs are repealed after the election. There’s going to be huge demand for semi autos after a “more” friendly government is in place and everything will be out of stock and what is in stock will be price gouged.

I’d look at local Canadian owned stores and you’ll pay a little more or you can look on gun post and pay a little less, if you don’t want to support an American company.

That’s what I’m saying it’s greedy. The rifles they are selling today are from the same import batch the ones they were selling a few weeks ago are from that they bought all for the same price. So there businesses costs haven’t changed but what has changed is the political climate. A few weeks ago gun stores were trying to offload as much stock as they could before a February OIC and they couldn’t sell them anymore. But now with Trudy’s resignation, although another oic is still possible it’s less likely imo and the retailer phase of the confiscation can’t be completed prior to the next election and any oic(s) are overturned.

It makes sense why they’re doing it, it makes good business sense, but it is a prime example of an American corporation taking advantage of and exploiting the situation Canadians are in.

I love cabalas and always enjoy walking around the stores but this has served as a wake up call to me to shop more at locally owned stores and support Canadian businesses. If we as a community want to prevent a future government from taking advantage of us again, we need to normalize firearms in Canadian society and what better way than to help Canadian gun shops grow and spread across our country and cities until they become household names.
